Barb Fins

The silvery glass-like fins had been submerged under the water for a very long time. Two semi-circle weapons had been crafted anciently, but no one in living memory would be able to identify the hands that made them. Little was known about them at first but a few things became clear.

1 - The "glass" was not glass. It was incredibly sturdy and was easy to grip. Visibly it looked exactly like glass and had a similar ring when flicked.

2 - One of its magical abilities was helping the weilder to swim through water. Even someone who was physically unable to swim could move gracefully though the water with the aid of the Barb Fins.

3 - When struck together like a pair of cymbals they generate a concusive wave both in air and in water. This hurts... a lot.

4 - The barbs on the weapon glow. This is an indicator for if the tip had punctured an enemy. If it had then the barb darkens and the enemy feels the affects of a hospitalizing poison

5 - In between the barbs are iridescent shards that can move independently of the weapon. When the weapon is at rest the shards return to their place and lock themselves there, but when the weapon is in use the user can encourage them to slice the enemy. Death by a thousand shard cuts.

The Barb Fins have a mysterious and murky past, but it does a user no good to focus too intently on that. What matters for this weapon is what it will be used for in the future. Time to look forward and see that what lies ahead entirely depends on what is done now; and hopefully those choices will lead to a brighter place.
