I wouldn't know much about overdoing detail, that's for sure. 
I say, there's no such thing as too much detail. Now not enough detail, that's my problem.

I wouldn't put too much thought into it. I find that my patience is tested more than not these days when it comes to my details. I seem to be becoming very impatient as I get older.
As for the completion date? I'm not sure yet. I keep thinking up of more and more things to put into the pic everytime I sit at my art table.
