[Art] Concept art- Ophelia
Feb 27, 2016, 11:44:30 PM UTC on [Art] Concept art- Ophelia
Fascinating costume design, with the warm colors and misture of gathered and flowing elements, the almost spidery embroidery in front, and delicate, winglike pattern of the crown. She looks like she shall develop into an interesting character, and it's nice to meet Pandora's sister. Smile

I'm not certain whether I would read her as 10, but she at least falls into early teens. And my age estimates are sometimes wonky irl, so Me misreading wouldn't mean anything. :p

She looks like she might be a bit shy - but also like she could keep and use a secret if she needed to. Take or leave that as you will.

Oh yeah- the patterns are meant to be like Monarch butterfly wings, as the Embaflai has firey butterfly wings Smile Not sure what I'm doing with her, but it seems stupid to me a powerful King like Constantine not having a guaranteed second child- he has 2 daughters before Ophelia, but one is a stone statue, presumably never to come alive which isn't ideal. Ophelia may or may not get plot elements, or she could just be Pandora's little sister. IDK.

I'll do some research on how to draw 10 year olds. I may have the face shape a little too long. I'm not use to drawing children.

Funny you say about keeping secrets and stuff. I had contemplated a version of her which is learning dark dealings on the side, and her growing up to want to take the country in a different direction cause of it, but I may not want to do that kind of character for her XD We'll see. I'm glad you like her Smile

The heir and the spare, eh?
And one of the previous daughters is stone? That sounds like some dramatic backstory. Who'd he miff for that to happen?

The King had a daughter as part of a treaty with another country, the people he had a child with being a crystalline specie. They don't know it, but the daughter runs on magic, and if she doesn't get it, she goes into a hibernation state- the statue. The main character is able to animate her cause he has super large amounts of magical energy, and is able to keep her sentient, and her taking his energy makes sure that he doesn't overload on magic. She's half human, half crystaline Art thumbnail She's the blond haired girl on the left. I considered making her totally colourless, but it was a little strange to draw, but her hair, eyes, and skin lack pigment. I'm still deciding on her eyebrows and lashes as it makes her difficult to draw :/
