Happy Thanksgiving. Gimme a Wii!

To those living in the United States, I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving feast. Get off the damn computer and spend some time with your family.

Time for a quick BogusRed-Rant....

No updates to PD to report at this time. Sorry their haven't been too many updates recently. Last week I was busy studying for a big test. This week I've had Wii fever. I've been trying to get my hands on a Nintendo Wii. It's the latest and greatest in video game technology that focuses on motion detection. It was released on Sunday. I got up early to arrive at my local Target store a little before 7am only to find that there were already about 100 people in line. The store only had 80 systems so I didn't get my Wii. I drove all over the place trying to find a store with Wiis. I was even desperate enough to wait at one of the targets until 12 noon hoping one of the 81 people with a ticket for the Wii wouldn't show up. You see, at 7 am, an hour before Target opened, they handed out tickets to the people in line for the 81 Wii units they had. So if you had a ticket, you'd get a Wii. These people had until noon to claim their wii, after that they were up for grabs. So around 10 there were still 2 wiis that hadn't been picked up yet. Someone else who was as desperate as me asked if he could be put on a waiting list for the 2 wiis if they hadn't been picked up by noon. I got in the second slot on the list. By noon one of the two wii's had been picked up and I was waiting and hoping against hope that the first guy on the wait list wouldn't show up. At 12 noon I was the only one there in the games department and I said "Hey it's noon by my watch." They said, "wait a minute we have to wait for the first person on the wait list." Two minutes later, the guy walks up and he gets the wii. I was so damn close. They shouldn't have even taken down a waiting list to begin with. It should have been first come first serve and if that was the case, I would have gotten it. But I was nice and didn't argue with the guy. I just said "Damn.... I was hoping you wouldn't show up. I was next on the list." Well I hope he enjoys it.

After that I went home and was so utterly depressed about the whole thing. I just slept the rest of the day. The good news is, while I was at Target, I bought an extra Wii-mote and the new Zelda game for Wii. So when I get my Wii I'll be ready to play. The games and accessories are sold out at a lot of places now too.

I did have a second close in-counter with a Wii. I went onto craigslist.org (a site for selling stuff and job listings in California Bay Area) to see if anyone was selling a Wii at a reasonable price. I found someone who was taking offers. I offered $300 plus a Google T shirt and he agreed. That's a great price considering the Wii costs $270 including tax. We agreed on a meeting place and I hopped in my car on my way there to meet him and right after I left my drive way he calls me asking for more money. The guy was trying to scam me out of another $40. He said he had another offer for $320 so he was going to go with that guy. I said "Well I'm already on my way. How about I pay you $325?" He said, "Hmm... no, how about $340?" I said "No my offer stays at $325. Take it or leave it." He said "no" and then I turned around and went home. The guy was obviously trying to scam me. Firstly, he already agreed to the $300 price and I was on my way there to meet him. Second, I was already the highest bidder at $325 so him asking for more money doesn't make any sense. I bet the $320 offer didn't even exist. Damnit. Another time I was THIS friggin close to getting my Wii. I'm so upset.

Nowadays, I can't sleep. I can't even think clearly enough to work on any of my projects, including PaperDemon. Even at work yesterday I had trouble focusing and during my lunch hour called a bunch of stores asking them when they'd get more Wii's in. All I've been thinking about is how to get my hands on the new Nintendo. I'll be getting up really early tomorrow morning to stand in line at my local game store to try and get one. But the store I'll be going to will only be getting 4 Wiis. So if when I arrive there are already four people in line, I'll be turning right back around and going home, wiiless.

Wish me luck on getting my Wii. And if I do happen to get a Wii you probably wont be seeing me much at all this weekend. I'll be playing my Wii. I want one so bad. If I had a tent I'd even be willing to camp out to get one if I had someone to join me to protect me. Luckily Exdeath will be getting up early with me to stand in line. I hope we don't get mugged. Then I'd not only be Wii-less, I'd be wallet-less.

Gobble gobble. Happy Thanksgiving.

Damnit I want a Wii!!!
