How it works
1. Register your original character
🎨 Draw a portrait or 🧾 write a description of your character and submit it for registration.
🎲 You'll get a character sheet for your character to track your character's progress, power, and equipment.
2. Complete Challenges
🎨 We provide unique prompts to inspire you to create.
🕐 Go at your own pace. Invest as little or as much time as you want.
3. Upload your creation
Our game works with all skill levels.
🚩 As you adventure, follow the challenge details to submit to the game queue for review.
4. Earn in-game rewards to motivate you to keep adventuring
💰 In-game points and currency make an enticing rewards system, keeping you creating, defeating art block and writers block one challenge at a time.

Every challenge comes with a list of minimum requirements, such as "half body colored" for visual art or "250 words" for written fiction.
Here's a look at the type of game content and prompts included in the PaperDemon Art RPG. Simple prompts are added weekly, while larger events are added monthly.
Portals are new worlds your character can visit with new creatures for your OC to encounter. Some Portals are seasonal, while others are permanently available.
Quests allow your character a chance to find their place in PaperDemon lore and history as well as earn special rewards. Most are only open for a set period of time.
Character Development prompts are short and simple challenges with lower art and word count requirements and are released every week.
Battles are a fun way to pit your characters against a wild variety of denizens of the Paperverse while gaining loot and teaming up with other players.

- players who purchase our game's premium currency or other items from our shop. Premium currency is optional and not required to participate in the game. You can earn premium currency through game participation.
How skilled do I need to be at art or writing?
There is no skill requirement. Our staff will judge the completeness of your entries based on your current skill level.
How will I compete with other players?
The game is designed so that no player is competing directly against another player. Boss fights are a collaborative event where players work together to take down a site-wide boss.
Your character will go up in level based on how many artworks you complete, not based on the quality or your skill level as an artist. However, there are minimum art requirements (e.g. full color artwork, depict half the body of the character) to help keep the game fair.
How much time investment do I need to make?
You can participate as little or as much as you want. Many prompts have a deadline but we also have events that are ongoing. Many events with deadlines have special items you can obtain to allow you to participate past the deadline and still get rewards.
Can I use an existing Original Character? Can I use an anthro character?
Most likely, yes. Check the character requirements for more info.
What if this content is not enough?
You're welcome to create your own quests for your character. Drawing or writing your character outside of the provided challenges still earns you rewards.
PaperDemon isn't the first or only Art RPG. We host many other Art RPGs, some of which have been operating successfully for several years. Sometimes we do crossover events with these other games.
