Happy New Year!

It's a new year! PaperDemon.com promises new stuff for the new year as well.

And with the New Year comes
"The Adventures of BogusRed in Hosting-land"
Full of suspense, horror, and bloodshed!....
(well not really, but read it anyway)

You have no idea how close PaperDemon.com came to running into it's bandwidth limit last month. I got an email around Christmas time saying that PaperDemon.com had exceeded 80% of it's bandwidth limit! I had to quickly redistribute GBs of bandwidth from my other websites to PaperDemon.com, changing it's Bandwidth limit from something like 48GBs to 56GBs. And it's a darn good thing I did too! The site ended up using about 52 GBs of transfer in december. Everyday I was watching, very afraid that the site was going to use up the other 8 GBs I had given it. It was very close and very scary and ended up using 91% of the allocated bandwidth! ZarbonOnline.com was also very close using up 86% of it's bandwidth.

So I decided to upgrade my hosting account. A wise choice indeed! I would have done it as soon as I had the first hint of the site going over but my host wanted to charge me for the entire month of december when it was the end of december, which I didn't like too much. They told me to wait until January 2nd to upgrade to avoid being charged for december, so that's what I did.
Our hosting account has now been upgraded with more disk space and more bandwidth.
For those that know about micfo, I've upgraded from the MG special to the MG deluxe plan.

So how does this effect YOU? Hmm... well it doesn't really effect you guys that much except that you now don't have to worry about the site getting shut down. You see, if the site runs out of bandwidth, when you visit the site, you'll see a nasty bandwidth limit exceeded page and wont be able to see the site content or anything.

But you don't have to worry about that now. I've just received word that my upgrade has gone through and all I have to do is divy up the space and bandwidth and we'll be all set!

For you ZMT fans, this means we'll be able to post more episodes on Newgrounds. I haven't been able to post episodes on Newgrounds since November because of the bandwidth issue. Newgrounds was giving us more traffic than we could handle. Hopefully we wont have that problem again for a while. But then again, if we DID have that problem again on PaperDemon.com it would mean we were getting more traffic, more members, and thereby more money from advertising, which would mean money to cover the cost of upgrading! Anyway, I don't expect that we'll need to upgrade again until another year since the combined GB limit for our account has gone from 80GBs to 240GBs!

So anyway, Horray for PaperDemon.com and ZarbonOnline.com!

EDIT:
So I've just gotten around to cracking the numbers and reallocating the bandwidth limits. Here's how it looks before and after
PaperDemon.com
Before: 58,000 MBs
Now: 120,000 MBs

ZarbonOnline.com
Before: 20,000 MBs
Now: 50,000 MBs

So like I've pretty much doubled the bandwidth on both sites and I still have a little under 70,000 MB's of unallocated bandwidth that I'm saving just incase i need to add it to some site in an emergency. Hoooooodoggies!
