Chapter 10: Varonica?

β€œUgh,” Varick groaned as he woke with the worst hangover headache ever. The alcohol had mostly blacked out memories from the night before. He remembered going to a bar that his friend, Bridgette, wanted to try on the far side of the planet. After stepping out of the portal, there was a fuzzy memory of a cougar, but that’s it. As the horse shifted on the unfamiliar bed, he felt a strange weight on his shirtless chest shift. Thinking it was a pillow, Varick reached up to knock it away. He found something that wasn’t there before.

His eyes shot open in the dark bedroom lit by thin beams of early morning light as the sun filtered through the blinds. An unfamiliar naked male cougar was curled on the bed beside him, purring in his sleep. That mystery would have to wait as the blond Clydesdale lifted the blanket to find that he now had breasts. After a few moments of examination, Varick concluded that they were, in fact, real and not some sort of prosthetics. Suddenly realizing something was missing, the brown horse traced his right hand down his body to find his usual equipment replaced.

Scared and confused, Varick carefully got out of bed and found the bathroom. The full-length mirror reveals his parts swapped out and his body more slim and feminine. Admittedly he was precisely the type of woman he would be attracted to, but that wasn’t the point. How did this happen in the first place? What was he supposed to tell everyone? A mix of hangover and anxiety made him vomit in the toilet. Luckily there was a water cup and mouthwash by the sink.

β€œThere’s my new favorite mare,” the male cougar purred as he wrapped his arms around Varick from behind. The mahogany Clydesdale jumped almost jumped out of his new skin in surprise.

β€œLook, this is going to sound weird, and I don’t know what happened, but I’m not a woman,” Varick blurted out as he pushed away from the tan cat wearing pink panties and a black t-shirt. β€œSomeone must have slipped something into one of my drinks, and look, and I hope you understand.”

β€œI thought you might’ve been a little blackout last night,” the cougar laughed as he guided Varick to the kitchen. β€œLet me reintroduce myself; my name is Alex right now, but most of the time, it’s Alexis. If I remember right, you are Varick, or do you still want to go by Varonica? Either way, put some clothes on, and I’ll explain.” Alex began to cook eggs and sausage on his magitech stove while Varick slipped his boxers on and his shirt that now didn’t fit properly over his new bosom. β€œI’m a gender shifter; I can trade genders with a willing partner, and before you ask, you agreed to the shift before you started drinking.”

β€œOh, I guess that makes sense,” Varick mumbled as he looked over his new body again. β€œWhy did I get blackout drunk? We didn’t do the deed, did we?” Alex set down a plate of scrambled eggs and brown sausage with a cup of coffee.

β€œNo, we didn’t do anything last night; you were way too gone to consent,” the cougar said as he sat across from Varick. β€œI tried to explain that your body weight changed slightly with the transformation, but you didn’t listen. I barely managed to get you back here with your clothes on. Tequila makes you want to take off your clothes.”

β€œSorry about that,” Varick apologized for his drunken behavior the night before. β€œI have always wondered about the female side of relationships. Guess I missed my chance there.” Alex leaned across the table and kissed Varick deeply and passionately.

β€œVaronica, you still have twelve hours left,” the cougar smirked with a wink. Varick left the apartment later that night back in his original gender and curiosity extremely sated.
