Chapter 1: Chapter 1

http://anime2

A/U- Vegeta grows up as the Prince he should have been and ends up meeting some one he shouldn't.

Yes this is a G/V and don't worry they're not too OOC. Vegeta's still an asshole, just a bit more of a free-spirited one. And Goku is still a sweetheart, but he's also a wild-child much like he was before the ravine incident. I'm not stopping my other story, nor am I halting in its completion, but I have two other school papers I should be working on and then I had this idea and well… those two loosen me up, pardon the pun.

I hope you all like this one, enjoy!

Chapter 1- They call me Mello Yellow

Space travel bores me to tears I think as I yawn, resting my head on my hand, tirelessly. A sigh escapes my lips and I think that the only thing that drives me out here are the incredible creatures that I meet and have a chance to grow with. My father thinks its good for me to have all the “people skills” I'm gaining, seeing as how I was always cooped up in the castle during my childhood.

Thinking about those days makes me grateful I'm out here, even if it is all alone on a dull ship with nothing to do.

All of the sudden my ship is hit by a magnetic wave, and it rides it out ungracefully. A suitcase holding my cloths, as well as a few other objects such as pans and whatnot come flying my way. A sock smacks me in the face, and I rip it off of me, glaring at the offending object before I hear a beep at my consol. Yes! Home, there it is, wonderful.

I smirk to myself evilly, I can't wait to get home and tell all those starry-eyed fools of my fantastic adventure to the Elven Lands. They were by far the most beautiful creatures I've ever met. And that's saying a lot. They also had many great accomplishments that, because of my father's and my good work, the Saiyan Empire can benefit from. All it took was a little convincing on their part.

I smile as I go to look back out the window I had been before the wave. There it is, Planet Vegeta, I've every reason to be proud. I can't wait to be home, father's sure to be excited.

I walk back over to the controller's chair and fasten myself in. Perhaps if I play all the right cards, he'll let me out for some fun. Fun I laugh at the thought- Time to terrorize the public once again!

“Goku, you dumbass, get down from there! Are you crazy?” Toyvon screams in terror.

“You know he is, there's no point in trying to talk any sense into him,” Seleice silences her friend from even trying something so impossible.

There, at the top of a devastatingly high cliff stood Kakarot Son, better known as Goku, preparing to sky-dive off of it with ki-cuffs on his wrists and nothing but air all around him and in his head.

“And now, Ladies and Gentlemen,” his boy-like voice called out, “I am going to attempt a dastardly jump. Some may say it will be the death of me. Some say that there is no hope for survival,” he paused, a serious look on his face as the wind blew his hair from side to side, his arms outstretched, giving the impression he'd let the wind take him down itself.

Then, out of nowhere, he sounded: “WEEEEEEEEEEE!” he went flailing from the stoop with such joy the birds sang with him and flew about in all different directions to and from him.

“You, fool! Goku!” Toyvon screamed after him as he watched his reckless friend plummet to the ground.

Goku then begins to do forward flips in the air and continues them until he lands strongly, bent on one knee on the orange, dirt ground. His friends hear his laughter and fly over to meet him as Goku dizzily tries to walk towards them.

“You might as well have worn a blindfold too, idiot,” Sileice says playfully punching at his arm once he manages to stumble over to them.

“Aw, man,” he laughs, “that's a really good idea, why didn't you say that before?”

The two of them groan as a roar of applause erupts from any onlookers who'd been spying on the well-known teen. Goku turns to those around him, smiling and bringing his hand to the back of his head to scratch as he waves to them all, contently.

I was right, welcomed in with open arms and interested eyes. I step out of my space ship to the cheers of my people all around. It's calm on this day and age on my planet. After so much fighting and depression… We worked so hard for this Golden Era, and I believe we deserve it.

After bowing to my fellow Royals I catch a glimpse of my father and notice him mouth for me to see him alone as soon as possible. A reward maybe? I smirk for the umpteenth time today. I hope so.

Upon making a statement, as is expected, entering the castle and “kindly” brushing off any media, I rush through the corridors to find my father. Names of my closest friends rush through my mind and I can't help the grin that envelops my face as I imagine my first night back home. Then I hear a tiny voice calling after me, but I don't stop. It gets closer and closer until—BAM!

“VEGETA! You're back! You looked so cool up there just now. I've missed you so much. What is fun? What did you do? Did you fight any mean people? How were they? That one guy was weird looking. Are you happy to be home? Are you happy to see me? I'm happy to see you! And what about—”

“Okay, Hello to you, too,” I say as I cover his mouth with my gloved hand to shut him up for a second. Speedan had knocked me into the wall and then we fell swiftly to the floor because of his onslaught. I smile at my little brother. What a handful, I think, ruffling his hair with my gloved hand lovingly.

“Hi!” he replies cheerfully, then latches onto my back as I get up and continue on to find my father once again. “Where's Cibic (Dad), Speed? Have you seen him?”

“Not since you got home. He was there one minute, gone the next. He so fast, I remember him saying something about a dinner tonight, though, just the three of us,” excitement coated the seven year olds voice, “I can't wait!”

“What? A dinner? No! Damn it, I should have expected as much,” I growl and hear Speed whine a bit at the fact that I'm opposed to it. I roll my eyes, “Well, it's not as though I'm going to get out of it- cheer up, brat,” He smiles into my hair and giggles slightly, clenching onto me tighter, ever ecstatic to have me back.

Hell, it's great to be back.
