Yakuza Wife: Brother-In-Law

“Is Sessho-maru coming back soon?” Fawks muttered thoughtlessly as her mother-in-law brushed out her hair.

“That eager for you fiancé’s return, eh?” she chuckled.

“No…! I just thought…we should get to know each other a bit before the actual wedding. I mean…we’re expected to sleep together that very night…” she blushed.

“Fear not, my dear. Sessho-maru is due back the day after tomorrow…”

A loud ruckus erupted from the other side of the door.

“Now what on earth could that be?!” Sachiko began, clearly irritated. The door was thrown open and standing in the doorway was a man who looked to be a younger version of Lord Taiyo.

“Inu-yasha! What on earth are you doing here?!” Sachiko bellowed.

“Had to see the girl Sessho-maru got from dad” he said with a nasty grin. “She’s cute, though I doubt that’ll be enough to hold his attention for long…”

“Inu-yasha…!”

“Listen here, babe. My brother’s got women all over Japan, as far as he’s concerned you’re just another notch in his bedpost” he sneered.

“Excuse me but who the hell are you?” Fawks glared.

“…this…is your brother-in-law…” Sachiko sighed. “…from Taiyo-san’s current wife”

“You listen here, bitchy little prick, I don’t give two shits what you have to say about my marrying your brother. But you better show me some goddamn respect!” Fawks snapped. Inu-yasha seemed taken aback, the condescending smirk faltering.

“What the hell did you just say?!”

“You may not fully comprehend the words coming out of your mouth but I know for a fact you understood mine”

“Cheeky bitch!” he snarled

“Cocky asshole!” she scoffed. “I don’t have time to fight with you. You’re brother get’s home in two days and after that we’re expected to get married…”

“…the hell…?”

“I’m going to be you one-san soon, it would be best if we attempted to get along. For the sake of the family and all that crap”

“You heard the woman…! Off with you! We are very busy…!” Sachiko crowed shooing him out the door.

“Oi…! I don’t even know her name or nothin’…!” he began.

“It’s Fawkeisha. Maybe one day I’ll give you permission to call me Fawks” she called.

“Well, I must say. You handled that quite well…aside from all the vulgar language” Sachiko smirked.

“…I’ve…never had a little brother before…all my siblings were always older then me…” Fawks commented, “This might be fun…”

 

“She stood up to Inu-yasha?”

“Mm, you would have been proud of her”

“…and her training is finished?”

“Yes, she is ready for you. But your father insisted on holding the wedding the day you return…”Sachiko said dryly.

“I can’t say I’m surprised…” Sessho-maru scoffed.

“Well neither am I but I know Fawks-chan will be disappointed…She was hoping to get to know you a little before the ceremony”

“Is that endearment I hear in your voice?” Sessho-maru smirked.

“What can I say, I like the girl” Sachiko conceded. “I am quite looking forward to grandchildren…”

“I believe it is too soon to have such a conversation…” Sessho-maru sighed.

“Nonsense! You’re expected to bed her on your wedding night. Could you not conceive a child then?”

“I should go now mother…”

“What is it about men and talking about babies? Your father was the same way when I wanted to talk about having you”

“Goodbye mother…!” he sighed, hanging up the phone. He gazed at it thoughtfully.

“She was hoping to get to know you a little before the ceremony”

He smirked, “…is she now?”
