Quetzalcoatl

Posted Sep 10, 2007, 4:43:55 PM UTC

This one's more than a year old now, and while I can point out quite a few things that are wrong with it, overall I'm still pleased with how it came out. I did this for a shop on gaiaonline.com that's now closed, but the owner still gets to keep the art and claim the character as their own if they so wish.

For those that don't know, Quetzalcoatl is a mythical beast/god that originated in Mexico. There's quite a few stories concerning him, some saying he was the reason that Mexico became as dry and hot as it is. I kind of went on a new take of him rather than just drawing some snake with random wings coming from his back. O_o; Though with a wingspan that small I don't see him getting off the ground. XD

He belongs to Moofuls of gaiaonline.com

He's really pretty! *Shiny eyes* I love quetzalcoatls, and I am amazed at the number of people that don't know what they are. Fewer know what an ouroboros is. *Giggles* He looks so fuzzy, I want to pet him!
Awesome job, despite age! *Thumbs up*

XD I'm a mythology nut. Isn't ouroboros that dragon that's like nibbling on its own tail? It's kind of interesting to find really, really old books at second-hand book stores about mythology. Way before 'political correctness' ruined all the modern ones. XD
