Gryphon

Posted Aug 31, 2005, 8:47:30 PM UTC
Oh my god! I can't believe I FINALLY got this done. I have put quite alot of effort into making this one look nice. And I even did a pretty neat background for it. (Woot!) I just want to thank Chris and Robin for all of their help with it. And I want to thank my Mal for her love and support all the time. Thank you all. Now if you will excuse me, I need to sew my hand back on.

For my lil sis Heidi. Now you can't say I never draw you anything.

I just shrinkdefied this one and will be posting it tomorrow on FAC. I will love to see if he will get attention. The paper I did this on is watercolor paper because I was planning on painting it with my new watercolor paints I got, when something dawned on me.... I can't paint. At all. So I left it in pencil. I had to do the "old school" type Gryphon. But the poor thing has some messed up wings. >_< Laughing All's well that ends well. Wink

This is beautiful LadyAnime! I really like the perspective on his claws reaching outward. The shading is great too, and I really love the wings! Great job! Big Smile

Thank you so much Nae. I am quite proud of it too. it took me FOREVER to finish it. Luckily I stuck to it and I did actually finish it and I even did a background. Though I think I may change the BG a bit. It is kind of hard to tell that those are mountains.>_< Ah well. Thank you so much for your wonderful review love. I am waiting for more poetry from you. All my love.

Wacha! It's the almighty Gryphon from mythical lore! And quite the looker, art-wise too ^^. You've done a very remarkable job on him Kristy. And I KNOW those BG's are what you hate doing the most, but I'm glad to see that you stuck with it, and gave it your all, even if your wrist probably wanted to drop off, and behave like the thing from the adams family! LOL. Anyways, excellent job Kristy, as always, you astound me with your skill ^^. *Thumbs up*

Thank you so much Chris. I wouldn't have done it without you. You are always a driving force for me in so many aspects of my life and my art is just one of them. Thank you so much for helping me through every stage of this one. You have helped me turn it into something memorable. And I thank you so much for that. And yes, my hand did fall off. Luckily I was able to re-attach it using some super glue and very strong tape. ^_^ Thank you so much for commenting on this one Chris. Especially now. I need it. All my love.

Awesome perspective on this one! I love the shading, especially on his wings. Truly fantabulous. I love the old school gryphon style, too! I don't see many gryphons drawn like this anymore.... It's really nice. Smile

Aww thank you. Now you are going to make me blush. I really loved the Gryphon too in this form. I like it alot better than some of the other arrangements that they have of it nowadays. Thank you so much for the wonderful comments. You guys always meake me feel like I am doing it "right." Much love.

*hugs* This looks so very good, dear. The background is especially exquisite. You've rendered the clouds beautifully! And the shading on the figure... I could gush about this for ages. Laughing This looks to me like a new stepping stone for you, my love.

O.O *jaw is on the floor* Why... thank you. (blink, blink) I am so pleased with the whole background. You know how much I hate doing backgrounds. But I wanted to do something that would make people remember my name. I hope this does just that. It was either drawing this or selling my organs on e-bay. It took me 5 hours to do that sky. Can you believe that? 5 friggen hours! Of course I kept setting it down to do other stuff, but oh well. Thank you so very much for always helping me Robin. I rub you.

yurs, I can believe that, especially if it wasn't five hours straight. My pictures take me days on and off... THe posted time I write down is the approximate time I actually spent drawing. Tongue I'll always be here to lend a hand if you need me, luv.. Unless something odd happens and I get cut off, but we won't think about that. :ponder:
        • Aug 31, 2005, 3:18:31 PM UTC
Oh no! Let's not even think about that! I always need you. For more than just my art. You always keep my head on straight. I would be utterly lost without you Robin. And my head would be crooked. All my love for always.

    • Aug 31, 2005, 12:17:08 PM UTC
Rock on! I got both of your thumbs? Sweet! Thank you so much hun. It took me 5 hours alone this morning to do the shading of the sky and the clouds. I hate doing backgrounds! But I had to do it. And now my hand is about to fall off. I need to find some tape or super glue. Thank you for the wonderful review love. All my love.

Wow, very good technique!!!! The sky looks very good, I wish I could do the black and white shading. I can but im not very good at it. I like the creature too, I deffinatly can do creatures either.
    • Aug 31, 2005, 12:45:10 PM UTC
Thank you love. It took me 5 HOURS to do the sky. Mainly because I have never really done a background before. Oh and I have a little rug rat that kept saying "Mommy I want this. I want that." So I had to keep setting it down. *sigh* I am just happy to have it finally done. Thank you so much for your kind review hun. Much love.
