Hey guys,
Just wanted to give you a heads up about what's to come at the begining of next year.
Very soon I will be introducing Premium Accounts. I haven't decided on a price yet but basically if you subscribe to PaperDemon.com you will get a lot of extra features including:
- 5000 private messages
- folders for private messages
- art folders (aka personal galleries)
- writing folders (this feature might not come until a few months from now)
- a personal chatbox on your profile page
- a blog/journal
- a photo folder (these images will not be in the art galleries. it will be like a personal photo folder accessed from your profile)
- high resolution artwork uploads
Just about all of these features are still under development. The art folders feature is taking most of my time right now because I have to rewrite much of the coding dealling with the art galleries to make it more versatile code.
I know that there are a few features in there such as journals and high res art uploads that are offered in the free accounts on Deviant Art. But just remember that I'm giving you bigger thumbnails for free ^.~
I also hope to have the watch feature available by early next year and that will be free to everyone with big thumbnails. This has been probably the most requested feature and I hope to deliver it soon.
Oh and one other thing, if you already have or are planning to make a purchase in the PD store, the money in profit that you create for PD.com can go towards your subscription. For example, if I decide to charge $3 a month for subscriptions and you purchase a PD hoodie and a mug, that should be enough profit to cover one month of a premium account subscription. But don't worry about that now, I'll get to the details and such later when the subscriptions are offered.
Oh one last thing I wanted to mention was that private messages currently are unlimited to everyone because when I programmed the feature waaaay-back-when I never put a limit on it. I will be enforcing a limit soon of 50 messages in your inbox. There are only about 7 members who are currently over this limit so I'll have to contact you individually about having your messages forwarded to your email accounts or something.
EDIT: I have removed "unlimited" from a lot of the stuff in the list for premium accounts. I should learn from my mistake with the private message system and create a limit for things.
