Chapter 8: Chapter 8

Chapter 8.

He struggled to look through the darkness and could feel tiny beads of cold sweat run down his face. He could sense something was there, something evil, and it was out to get him. He began to stumble through the dark feeling his way down a never-ending corridor by a wall close to the left of him. Even with his keen Saiyan sight he couldn’t make out a single thing, the eerie darkness felt like a thick heavy blanket had been pulled over his eyes. Then there was the silence, so silent it was deafening to him. He could sense someone or something there, but couldn’t hear them. He swallowed hard and could feel his heart quicken as thoughts of something jumping out of the darkness and grabbing him at any moment ran through his mind.

He began to quicken his pace almost running but not quite, trying to find the end to this darkness. But no matter how long he walked, the corridor never ended it just kept going and going. It was driving him insane. He stopped; out of breath he leaned up against the wall he was using to guide him down the long winding abyss of nothingness and growled at the frustration of not getting anywhere. But suddenly his ear’s pricked up at the sound of faint footsteps in the darkness coming toward him. They were heavy metallic footsteps and they were quickening with each step. He felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand up as he realized that something was coming out of the dark to claim him.

He quickly pushed himself off the wall and began to run into the dark, away from the thing that was perusing him not far behind. He could hear it was gaining on him and fast. He felt his stomach tighten at the terror he felt now. Which is not something he was used to feeling. He tried to run faster but his legs began to ache and his lungs were burning from lack of oxygen. He carried on regardless he couldn’t let it get him, whatever it was, he knew that it was certain death to be caught by this unimaginable evil he felt coming after him.

Then he realized that the footsteps had stopped. He slowed down and listened closely but all he could hear was the sound of his own horrified heartbeat pounding in his ears. He began to walk on but walked into what seemed like a steel wall. He stepped back slightly and looked up. He wished he hadn’t as he soon realized that this was no wall. Walls didn’t have burning red eyes, eyes that shone death and destruction. He let out a small-horrified gasp and stumbled backwards only to feel a cold hand wrap around his throat and pull him closer to it. He clenched his eyes closed, as he didn’t want to look at it or its evil eyes starring back at him with a cruel intent. He heard it hiss at him and he looked quickly to see it’s gleaming grin in the dark. It’s eyes narrowed slightly and it licked its lips at him. He saw its shiny metallic tail raise up from behind him and he watched almost hypnotized by its gentle waving back and forth until it shot out toward him without warning and penetrated his chest. He heard a sickening squelch as it ripped through his skin and muscle tissue and then the cracking of his ribcage as it smashed through his bones with ease. Blood began to rise up through his throat and he coughed out as the monsters tail punctured through the other side. He couldn’t breathe or scream at the pain he just limply stood there his vision of the smirking creature in front of him fading slowly. He tried to regain some energy to fend off the beast but could feel his own life force draining away. Blood began to trickle down the corners of his mouth and suddenly as clear as crystal the creature spoke to him. “You’re out of time Prince of all Saiyans, your blood will be mine!”

Vegeta sat up quickly in bed, out of breath and covered in cold sweat. He blinked rapidly suddenly coming to the realization that it was just a dream. He sighed heavily once he realized that he was back in the safe confines of the Capsule Corp grounds.

Vegeta put a hand to his forehead and wiped away the fine spray of beaded sweat from it. Many thoughts raced through his head. He was used to vivid, horrifying dreams when he slept. From all the countless creatures he had murdered and planets he had wiped out. He still heard their screams at night, which is probably why he never slept much. Bulma would always concern herself with how little sleep he got.

His eyes narrowed slightly in the dark. This dream was different. It felt real, maybe a little too real for him. Vegeta began to rub the back of his neck deep in thought and suddenly winced in pain as he felt how sore to the touch the skin on his neck was. His eyes widened in shock and he immediately jumped out of bed and stalked across the bedroom toward the bathroom. The illuminating glow from the light on the wall made him squint at the sudden brightness as he made his way over to the sink. Vegeta griped the sides of the basin and slowly looked up at his reflection before him. A short gasp escaped his lips as he caught sight of a dull red mark around his thick neckline. But before he could inspect it further he suddenly noticed a deep purple bruise in the middle of his torso.  Vegeta stumbled backward on the tiled floor and began to tremble as he quickly looked down to inspect this mysterious mark on his skin. Sure enough this wound also felt sore when he ran his fingers across it carefully. Vegeta began to panic at the thought that he could be injured like this from a seemingly invisible force. It had to be the dream; he was injured fatally in his dream in these exact spots on his body. But how, how could a dream do that, leave such painful bruises? Vegeta began to pace the bathroom, he could almost feel the tail that he didn’t have anymore franticly lash back and forth as he panicked over what he had just witnessed. It took a lot to freak Vegeta out. The Prince had seen many things in his tortured life that would turn even the toughest Elite into a quivering mess.

No, this wasn’t right. How could he be harmed by a dream? He suddenly remembered a movie Bulma insisted on them watching together once a while back where an evil guy that Murdered children would invade their dreams and kill them while they slept. Vegeta stopped pacing and chuckled to himself. It was just a movie, silly Human’s with their over-active imaginations, he thought to himself as he remembered Bulma cowering behind a cushion on the sofa as she watched it with her wide blue eyes trembling.

He made his way over to the shower and turned it on. He quickly stepped out of his boxers and into the warm cascading water. He winced again as the water hit over his sore sensitive skin and growled out loud. It was maddening to think that something had harmed him while he slept. He just couldn’t figure it out. It baffled him. Never in all his years as an Elite fighter had he been attacked and not known about it. Vegeta glanced down at his severely bruised abdomen. He examined it further as the water from the shower trickled over his finely chiseled abs. He could feel his anger rising, he never liked not being able to figure something out. As the water ran down his face and dripped from his chin a sudden image appeared before him in his minds eye.

“Cooler!” Vegeta said out loud in utter bitterness and anger. This must be his doing. But how, how would he be able to get into his mind like that and injure him without even being on the same planet as him. Vegeta growled again in frustration and could feel his aura begin to burn brightly as anger over took him. Suddenly without opening his eyes the angry Prince threw a punch so hard that tiles from the wall came flying out everywhere in shard’s. Some managed to just finely cut Vegeta as they flew past him and into the shower cubicle. Vegeta slowly opened his eyes to find his fist imbedded in the wall before him. He began to withdraw his fist slowly and yet more tiles fell into the shower beneath him. He quickly turned off the shower and got out. He stomped across the bathroom still in a rage and grabbed a towel before exiting into the bedroom.

Bulma leaned over and gently kissed her sons cold cheek and slowly pulled the white sheet over his still form. A tear escaped her red sore eyes and rolled down her cheek as she turned out the lights to the room that was a temporary morgue for he befallen son. Bulma closed the door and made her way over to her workstation with a very determined look on her face. She quickly typed away at the keyboard in front of her with swiftness. Bulma worked away at the Nanite samples in front of her. She didn’t come this far to give up now. Other wise her son’s death might be in vain. Numerous figures and other information began to flood onto her screen and she watched intensely as she began to slowly understand the workings of the Nanites that had claimed her Trunks.

Goku was napping on the couch when a grouchy Saiyan Prince came storming through the reception room kitted out in his full battle Armour. He jumped as he heard Vegeta slam the door behind him. Seemingly unnoticing of the sleeping saiyan. Goku sat up quickly rubbing his tired eyes and looked around bewildered. He knew it was Vegeta; only he gave out that kind of power when in a rage about something. He stood up and began to head off into the direction of the angry Prince.

Goku headed toward the Gravity room as he could sense Vegeta’s Ki from that direction. He stepped toward the door with caution and noticed that the gravity hadn’t been activated yet. He thought it was strange, as normally Vegeta didn’t waste anytime when training. Goku reached for the door release button but before he pressed it he noticed through the small porthole, Vegeta’s still form in the middle of the room. Not moving a muscle just standing with his back toward the door and his head down. Goku frowned in concern and quickly pressed the button to open the door. As soon as he set one foot inside the room he heard Vegeta’s heated voice shout for him to get out.

“Vegeta, tell me what’s wrong? Why are you in here at 3am in the morning?” Goku began to take brave stepped toward the irritated Prince as he spoke.

“I said GET OUT!!” Vegeta growled through clenched teeth and quickly turned around to face Goku.

“Why are you so angry? Is it because of Trunks? Vegeta we can wish him back with the Dragon Balls, you do realize that don’t you?” Without warning a Ki blast whizzed past Goku’s ear almost singing it off completely. He stumbled backward in complete shock at how out raged Vegeta was.

“What did you do that for?! You almost hit me!”

Vegeta growled in anger and stormed past Goku. “Vegeta, please tell me what’s wrong, you look freaked out about something?” Goku put an arm out to try to stop the fuming Prince and as he did he caught the side of Vegeta’s bruised torso. He hissed almost instantly in pain and looked up to find Goku starring at him with a confused look on his face. “Vegeta? Are you hurt?” Goku raised an eyebrow as he looked at the clearly injured Prince.

“It’s non of your business Kakarot, now leave me alone!” Vegeta pushed past the concerned Saiyan in front of him and headed for the door before Goku could find out what was troubling him. The last person he would want finding out about this strange phenomenon was that third class soldier. The shame of knowing he could be injured like this without fighting back would be too much to bare. As the door closed Goku scratched the back of his head in confusion. The only person who might know something about this was Bulma. She was the only other person Vegeta was close to and maybe she could shed some light on the Prince’s strange behavior.

Vegeta crept past the snoozing Bulma at her desk and headed toward the room where Trunks’s body lay. Vegeta hesitated at the door and realized for the first time that his hand was trembling at the door handle. He exhaled sharply as he tried to shrug off the anxious feeling that he had been carrying since the dream. He opened the door slowly and could see through the dark at where Trunks lay. As Vegeta made his way over to the bed he could feel his stomach knotting with each step that he took, he still couldn’t believe that his son was gone. Feelings of immense guilt began to play heavily on his mind as he reached the foot of the bed. He could see that Bulma had pulled a sheet over to cover the body. He couldn’t quite understand why Humans would do this. He couldn’t understand many things humans would do with their silly traditions and such. He swallowed the lump in his throat and walked slowly around the bed until he reached the top of the it.  His eyes roamed over the pure white sheet in front of him, how strange it was to see his son die before him. It felt like a dream like he would wake up in a cold sweat any time soon like he did form the awful dream he had not long ago. A cold chill ran down his spine as he remembered Trunks pleading eyes as he lay strapped down dying in complete agony and there wasn’t a single thing he could do about it. Vegeta focused again and reached out to clutch the sheet that covered his dead son. He starred almost in a trance as he pulled the sheet gently down his son’s lifeless shell and clenched his teeth as he saw Trunks’s face for the first time since he past away. His lips were an icy blue color and his skin made him look as though he had aged several years over night, it was a deathly gray and Vegeta shuddered at how unnatural he looked. Like he was carved from marble. He closed his eyes in the grief he felt for his son, he was only a teenager, how unfair for someone so young and pure hearted to die in such an agonizing way. Vegeta’s fists tightened at the thought. His son died this way because of Cooler and if he died tomorrow the same agonizing way trunks had; he would make sure that lizard got what was coming to him before he went.

He opened his eyes again and looked at Trunks once more, he could feel so many emotions flooding through him all at once and it over whelmed him. He wasn’t used to feeling emotions, he didn’t have any place in his cold heart for anyone or anything before he came to Earth. But somehow everything had changed since then and he felt like everyday would bring a new experience. Experiences that were robbed from him by Freezer all his life. There wasn’t a day that went by that he didn’t blame that evil ice-jin for his cold and wicked ways. It was because of Freezer that he couldn’t sleep at night for all the countless creatures he had to slaughter in the name of Lord Freezer. It was Freezers fault that Bulma would get upset when he didn’t respond the way he should to her affections. Vegeta only knew how to be a cold heartless warrior that showed no mercy to anything and it was all because of Freezer. Before Vegeta came out of his trance like state, lost in all his troublesome thoughts, a small tear escaped from his eye and slowly trickled down the side of his stiffened face, leaving a wet shiny trail on its journey. He closed his eyes once again and placed a still trembling hand onto his son’s shoulder.

“I am sorry…my son…I should have been there for you, but…I wasn’t, and for that I’m…sorry.” The last word came out as a gruff whisper as Vegeta strained to contain the emotions that were threatening to break his tough exterior. Before Vegeta opened his eyes again he felt an icy grip on his wrist and immediately his eyes snapped open in utter shock. He looked down to see one of his sons cold hands wrapped around his arm in a death like grip. Vegeta’s eyes widened in pure terror and he subconsciously stumbled back ward but didn’t get very far as Trunks clutched at his right arm. He gasped as he witnessed in disbelief his son’s eyes rapidly open and without even glancing at his father he began to sit up in bed, still not letting go of the arm he held tight. Vegeta was speechless he couldn’t believe that his son had miraculously come to life and was now out to get him yet again. He thought that maybe he was dreaming again, maybe he hadn’t woken up at all, and He was just having one of those dreams that consisted of one nightmare after another. But while he tried to convince himself that this was not happening Trunks began to advance on his father. He struggled to free his arm as he began to study Trunks’s features. They were so cold as if set in stone. None of the former Trunks remained, just a cold, hard shell that resembled an android, a shell of the boy that once was, more than anything human. How ironic he thought, for his son who had traveled through time and space to destroy androids that threatened his very existence and had murdered his father, and then to become that very thing he detested so much.

Trunks suddenly jerked Vegeta forward and burst into super saiyan again without warning. His aura stung Vegeta’s skin as it burned away with intense energy. He tried to power up to try to re-claim his arm but before he even had a chance he felt a sharp blow to the back of his neck and everything suddenly switched to black, as if someone had just turned out the lights. He slipped into unconsciousness and the vivid nightmares filled his empty mind yet again.

Goku shook Bulma’s shoulder to wake her up and was rewarded with a very annoyed yell from the sleeping scientist. “Hey! I was having the most pleasant dream too, Goku!!”

“Sorry Bulma, I just wanted to ask if you’d seen Vegeta come by here not long ago?”

Bulma blinked slowly and began to rub the sleep from her eyes, “No Goku, why? Is there something wrong?” She noticed how worried her friend looked and a feeling of dread filled her senses yet again.

“He’s just acting a bit…well…jumpy!”

Bulma spun around in her chair to look fully at Goku, “What do you mean…jumpy?”

“You know…like something’s freaked him out! I just wondered if you had spoken to him. You know him better than any of us Bulma.”

“Do I?” Bulma said sarcastically raising an eyebrow. “I’m not so sure anymore.” She glanced up to see Goku wasn’t paying her any attention what’s so ever. His eyes were distant and she could tell he was sensing something.

“Goku? What is it?”

“It…can’t be!”

“What? Tell me what’s happening!”

“Something’s wrong, really, really wrong!” Goku headed toward the room Bulma had placed Trunks in but was immediately pulled back by an annoyed Bulma.

“Goku let me come with you, I need to know what’s going on!”

“No Bulma it’s to dangerous, you need to wait here, and I’ll be back soon ok, just please stay here!” Goku said as he headed for the door panic clearly written on his features.

Bulma knew there was something drastically wrong for her friend to be so worried about something. She glanced around at her desk and picked up the sample of Nanites she had sat up all night to create. She quickly grabbed an empty test tube and began filling it with her Nanites. She smirked in satisfaction at her creation and placed the test tube onto a dart ready for injection. Whatever this new problem was Bulma knew it had something to do with these horrid abominations that Cooler had let loose on her family and she’d be damned if she let this carry on without her doing something about it. If anyone could come up with an idea to defeat these things then Bulma was the woman to do it. She turned around swiftly on her heel and chased after Goku. She knew somewhere along the line her friend would be needing her help.

“When will these guys ever realize that sometimes you need brains not strength to beat the enemy!” and with that she opened the door to where Goku had exited.

As soon as Bulma had entered the room she found Goku panicking at the site of blood on the floor near an empty bed. She ran up to her friend and looked at his face, she began to worry as she noticed he looked a shade paler than earlier. She turned her head to the side and did a double take as she noticed the bed that had her son’s body on was empty.

“Goku? Where’s Trunks?” She said in shock without even turning to look at her friend.

“I…don’t know but…look!” Goku said pointing to the small spray of blood on the floor near her feet.

Bulma turned to look at his finger and followed its direction to the floor. She gasped slightly and stepped backwards. “What’s happening Goku, I’m scared! Where’s Trunks’s body? Bodies don’t just up and walk away after they have been dead several hours!!” Her voice began to sound a little hysterical now as the reality that her son’s corpse had disappeared.

“Bulma I don’t know what’s happening, who knows what these Nanite things are capable of, Trunks could be around here somewhere…”

“WHAT? Don’t be ridiculous Goku Trunks is dead, you saw it yourself for Kami’s sake!”

“I know, but I can sense him Bulma…I can sense a slight hint of his life force I swear!” Goku said now noticing that the small pool of blood had a faint trail leading from it as if something had been dragged through it. He began to follow it his heart began to speed up at the thought of actually bumping into the corpse of his dead friend. Bulma carried on babbling about how impossible the concept of her son coming to life was and didn’t notice that Goku had disappeared also.

“Goku? Goku where did you go? GOKU?” She began to panic at the thought of being left alone and ran through the lab, luckily in the right direction and bumped straight into his back. She looked up and was about to shout at him for leaving her alone until she noticed from around him at what Goku was starring at. She let out a terrified shriek as she took in the site of the long trail of thick red blood leading to another door. Goku didn’t hesitate any longer. He managed to snap himself out of the horrified trance he was in and followed the blood again to the other door.

“Oh no! Goku I just realized where that door leads to!” Bulma said quickly as Goku reached the door. Goku quickly turned to see her face full of dread.

“Where does it lead Bulma? Tell me quickly. He has Vegeta!”

“WHAT?! How do you know?”

“Bulma we don’t have time!”

“It’s the hanger room, it contains all the unused ships my dad made!” Bulma said running toward the door, she began to sob as she realized that Vegeta was about to be taken away from her again.

Goku quickly pushed open the door and in an instant the room was flooded in red lights. “What’s going on?”

“Oh shit these lights mean that one of the ships is preparing to blast off! QUICK GOKU! DON’T LET HIM TAKE VEGETA PLEASE!!” Bulma said running toward the control panel trying to stall the ship a little while longer for her friend to get to the doomed Prince.

Goku flew off toward the ship that he sensed had Vegeta’s low life force in and tried to open the door. It wouldn’t budge; it was locked from the inside. Goku knew he couldn’t blast the door off, as that would cause even more danger to Vegeta. Trunks was blasting out of here with or without a door he knew that was for sure. If that happened both one of them would be sucked out into space and that wasn’t something he wanted to be held responsible for. Goku decided to try another method, temptation.

“Trunks, open this door right now, you…you coward! Come out here and fight me, that is if you’re not scared!” Goku hammered his fists onto the door, causing several dents as he did. But still the door didn’t open.

“Goku hurry, I can’t hold the ship any longer!” Bulma shouted over to him as sweat poured from her forehead in alarm.

Goku turned his attention to the door again and suddenly he knew something that would hit Trunks to the core. That is, if some of the old Trunks still remained in that cold shell he was trapped in at the moment.

“It’s such a pity Trunks that you’re turning you back on a good fight. Your father would be so disappointed in you! Quite ashamed actually, that his son is such a spineless coward!” Goku smirked as he let this one insult roll off his tongue. He waited a few moments and sure enough the door began to hiss as it slowly opened. Goku began to slowly drift inside and looked around the darkened room for any signs of life. Suddenly his back was slammed against the steel wall and he looked up to find a cold set of eyes starring right back at him.

“T…Trunks! Listen to me…you don’t want to do this…Cooler is going to…kill him!” The grip tightened around his neck and he began to choke. Goku struggled to get air to his lungs and realized in horror that Trunks had suddenly turned Super Saiyan. He smirked and threw Goku across the room with ease. Goku quickly turned Super Saiyan, not wanting to be caught off guard like Vegeta had and pushed himself off the wall before he was imbedded in it. “Trunks please I’m giving you one more chance… I don’t want to hurt you but I won’t let you take Vegeta either!” He narrowly missed the fist that came flying from nowhere and lunged out of the way. Goku quickly turned around and gave a swift kick to the ribs. Trunks Growled out in pain and quickly phased out. Goku stood concentrating on reaching his senses out to find him. He quickly blocked another punch and threw one toward his hasty attacker again this one made contact and blood began to seep from the ill-fated teenagers nose. He watched in confusion as the saiyan before him began to smirk, even as the blood from his nose began to trickle down onto his lips. He phased out again and Goku looked around in a panic. He heard the sound of metal being unsheathed and felt a sudden flash of white-hot pain slice through his arm. Goku stumbled out of the way clutching his left arm and quickly looked at it in horror. He had a deep clean cut wound and blood was pouring out of it. Before he could do anything he heard a blade come whistling through the air again and he ducked out of the away. Goku gulped as he realized how close he was to being beheaded, he watched in shock as a few strands of black hair floated down to the floor. It was obvious that Trunks wasn’t giving up without a fight. Goku rushed toward Trunk’s Ki and threw a flurry of his quickest punches trying to buy Vegeta a little more time. He made contact with his fist again and Trunks stumbled backwards. Goku decided that enough was enough and began to form a Ki blast large enough to knock the young Saiyan out. He didn’t hesitate as he threw it towards Trunks and watched to see if it would be successful. Trunks put his arms up quickly to try and block the oncoming attack but before the Ki even reached him Goku had phased behind him and was quickly knocked unconscious before he even had a chance to react. Goku blocked his own Ki with ease and looked down at the sleeping Saiyan at his feet. “ I’m sorry Trunks, it was for your own good.” He looked up and began to search around for Vegeta. He called out several times but he couldn’t hear any reply. He knew the Prince was obviously in a bad way as he was finding it increasingly difficult to pick up his Ki signature. He looked in storage closets and found nothing and began to panic. Trunks wouldn’t be out for very long and if he woke up before he found Vegeta then he may have a big problem on his hands. Suddenly a small groan came from one of the chairs tucked away in a darkened corner of the ship. Goku ran over and he sighed in relieved that Vegeta was still alive. “Oh man Vegeta, thank Kami you’re still here! I thought you were gone for a moment there! Come on we need to get you out of here!” Goku said struggling with the straps that held the captive Prince tightly to the chair.

“Kakarot, hurry!” Vegeta Groaned out as he noticed Trunks’s form begin to come to life on the floor in front of them.

“I’m trying! I can’t get these things off! AHA!!” Suddenly the thick nylon straps snapped and Vegeta almost hurled himself out of the chair in a blind panic. His face was covered in blood from his earlier attack from the possessed teenager and he was finding it difficult to walk with the heavy concussion that threatened to pull him into unconsciousness again. Goku ran over and tried to help Vegeta over to the door avoiding Trunks who was now almost fully conscious.

“Were not gonna make it Kakarot, he’s waking up!” Vegeta said as a feeling of utter despair came over him. Reality hit him hard as he realized that he might never make it off this ship. He was slowing Goku down as he tried desperately to get his legs to respond but before they reached the door his legs gave out and he growled in pain as the cut from his head began to throb. The exit was so close but as he heard a snarl from Trunks pierce his senses he realized it was well and truly over. Vegeta never gave up, but he had never had to fight for his life from the attacks of his own son before. It gave him a sense of despondency that his life was about to be ended by the help of Trunks, his son, his child, and his own flesh and blood. He began to think how he deserved it. He deserved all of this, the pain, the suffering. For all the evil things he did in the past, this was his justice. Goku’s voice penetrated his dark thoughts and tried to bring him back from the despair he had sunken into.

“Vegeta get up, come on! You’re not gonna’ give up now! I won’t let you!” Goku shouted out and tried desperately to pick the injured Prince up off the floor. Trunks realized in alarm that his mission was about to be failed as Goku began to drag his prize out of the door. He growled like some crazed wild animal and launched himself at the two escaping Saiyans with speed. Goku turned around just in time to feel a solid fist strike the side of his face. He fell forward from the force of the attack and felt his grip loosen on Vegeta. Trunks looked down at the Saiyan Prince and slowly walked up to him. He bent down slowly and gripped his battled Armour chest plate. Vegeta felt his body being dragged away from the door again and he knew then it was over. He felt detached as he watched his son drag him across the floor like a piece of garbage. Was this what he had been reduced to? From the Prince of the great Saiyan race to a piece of trash to be dragged carelessly across the floor. He felt anger begin to fill his senses yet again, this had to stop, he wasn’t just going to sit back and let this happen to him. Vegeta clenched his teeth and suddenly push himself off the floor. With the last bit of strength he had he threw some of his strongest punches toward the menacing teen that stood unmoved before him. Trunks blocked most of the punches but got caught off guard with a few. Vegeta smirked as he began to knock the young Saiyan back a few steps. “No one treats the Prince off all Saiyans like some piece of trash that’s needs to be taken out! If you want me then you’ll have to fight for it!” He screamed out as he threw punch after punch but as he began to think he might just win this one Trunks grabbed one of his fists and clamped down hard on it so he couldn’t free it. Vegeta growled in anger and threw a punch with his other fist only to have that once restrained also. He looked up and to his terror noticed Trunks’s eyes began to glow an eerie red.

“What the?!” Vegeta said standing in complete shock as this red-eyed menace began to push him backward with ease. Trunks’s strength had increased ten fold in a matter of seconds. He began to panic as he realized he was no match the young Saiyan, not in this state anyway. The grip on his fists increased and Vegeta growled out in pain as he felt bones begin to crunch under the strain. Suddenly a flash of orange clouded his vision as he saw Goku launch another attack at his son but before he could feel relieved Goku was thrown back almost out of the ship completely. Trunks looked back down toward Vegeta and let one of his fists go, he pulled back his own fist ready to knock out the Prince once again but stopped and Vegeta noticed the youngsters eyes widen in shock. Trunks looked down quickly to find yet another dart imbedded in his leg. He looked up to find Bulma standing at the doorway holding a dart gun in her hands. His eyes narrowed as he grit his teeth in anger at her. Bulma swallowed hard and waited for the inevitable attack. She had risked her life to try and bring her son back to his senses with the Nanites she had tried so hard to create. But as Trunks dropped Vegeta’s body like a ton of bricks and hastily made his way over to her she realized what a big mistake she had made. “Oh no, they haven’t worked!” She mumbled to herself as she began to take a few steps backward away from the perusing teen. But before he got to her she watched in confusion as he was pulled back violently. She looked down to find Vegeta still lying of the floor clutching to Trunks’s leg and gasped when she saw the state he was in. Covered from head to toe in blood, cuts and bruises. “Vegeta?” She called out softly as she saw him glance up at her with his eyes set in stone. No emotion in his onyx eyes as he calmly told her to get out. She starred at him a little while longer and then suddenly realized that he was trying to save her.

“No Vegeta! I won’t leave you!” She knotted her eyebrows as the reality sunk in. He wasn’t going to make it off this ship and he knew it. It broke her heart when she saw that. The utter desperation on his face, that this was the end of the line for him.

“GO NOW WOMAN!! I can’t hold him forever!!”

Bulma suddenly snapped out of her trance and knew that this wasn’t the time to argue with him, “Please Bulma, I can’t let him hurt you! GO NOW!” Bulma looked into his eyes a second longer and mouthed the words that she loved him and ran out of the ship quickly. She looked back in despair as she witnessed Goku going in for yet another shot at freeing the Prince from his impending doom but watched again in horror as Goku came hurling out of the door and heard his body slam off the floor with a sickening thud. She ran over to her friend to try and revive him. She knew Goku was the only one strong enough to stop him now and she tried desperately to wake him up. A hissing sound was heard coming form the ship and she glanced up to see the door closing again. Her eyes widened in anguish as she watched the booster begin to start up again. The hanger began to open up ready for blast off and she screamed in misery as she watched her Prince be taken away for slaughter. “VEGETA!!! NOOOoooo!!”
