Story Summary

Gohan's family has been wiped out. Broly has hunted down and killed every last one of them except Trunks and Gohan. Their powers are slipping away due to a wish to Shenron from Broly. They're becoming human and there's nothing they can do about it. It seems that all hope is lost until Gohan hears about a woman called Brook who could possibly save them from certain death. But Brook has baggage of her own to take care of she can't afford to take on other people's problems but then she's not about to let the Earth suffer along with Gohan and Trunks. This is a cross over of my original story and the DBZ world it was inspired by a picture I drew call Brook VS. Broly I think it's somehwere still in my gallery. Though I redrew it and plan on posting it soon. This is a short series maybe about 6 chapters at the most but I hope you guys enjoy it and tell me what you think of it :)

Chapter 5: The Hunt

Gohan gently laid Trunks' body down and stood clenching his fists. He started marching forward determined to kill Broly.

“Gohan…wait don't rush off head first into battle.” Brook stopped him.

“What the hell am I supposed to do then?” He screamed with pain in his voice.

“Getting yourself killed isn't going to help your friends. You can't let anger control you. You said it yourself you're a human now. Obviously no normal person can stop Broly. I know you're a smart kid why don't you use that head of yours?” Brook snapped back. Gohan clasped onto his head and sat down on a rock as if he was giving up.

“ I-I shouldn't have left him…I was only gone for a day I thought he'd be fine, I thought he'd be fine…” He started to break down again. Brook lifted his head and looked him in the eyes.

“Now isn't the time for crying, Gohan.” She said firmly.

“How can you say that? I'm all alone now… ALL ALONE! There's no one left! I might as well sit here and wait for him to kill me…” he said with a pitiful voice. Brook's jaw tightened and her brows furrowed with anger. She suddenly smacked him hard across the face.

“Stop feeling sorry for yourself!” She yelled and pulled him to his feet by the collar of his shirt, “ If you want to sit here and whine about how everything has fallen apart go right ahead! But I'm not going to waste me time listening to it. Now make a fucking choice! You can use your brain and come up with a plan or you can sit on your rock and cry, but I'm warning you Gohan if you pick the second choice I will hop on that hover board and leave your ass here and never look back.” She let his shirt go and he stumbled and fell back on his rock. Gohan stared down in shame as Brook stood over him and waited. After a few minutes of silence she scoffed and started walking away from him. “ I knew it.” She said through clenched teeth. She jumped on her hover board when Gohan suddenly held up his hand to stop her.

“…Wait, I-I think I have an idea.” Gohan said silently.

“That's more like it.” Brook floated over to him. Gohan cleared his throat and collected himself. He wiped the tears from his eyes and ran his hands through his hair.

~Ok Gohan enough crying it's time to toughen up. ~ He told himself and stood straight and met Brook's gaze. “Knowing Broly he probably already collected the dragon balls; he's just waiting for the year to pass so he could finish his wish. If we find his hideout we could probably stop him from making his wish.” Gohan explained.

“Ok so when does the year pass?” Brook asked.

“Tonight at midnight.” He replied.

“Well do you have any idea of where his hideout might be?”

“Umm…he's likely to go somewhere where my dad has spent a lot of time. Broly has some kind of weird connection with him so he'll hang out in spots that my dad might show up at.” Gohan said.

“Doesn't Broly know he's dead?” She asked again.

“That's the thing he doesn't seem to understand that my dad is not coming back. So he was going to torture us until he did come back.” Gohan explained.

“Ok so what's the best place to check first?”

“It'd be best to split up I'll head to Mount Paozu where my house is and you head to my Grandpa Gohan's house. It's only a few miles west of my house you can't miss it.” Brook nodded and they took off. They split up once they arrived at Gohan's house. Gohan landed in the yard of his house that is now broken down and torn apart. Brook sped off to the west in search of his Grandfather's house.

Gohan walked through his house seeing all the broken glass and cracked walls. He could hear the frightened screams of his mother run through his mind as he remembered the day Broly forced his way into their house. He walked down the hall with his head down and he suddenly stopped at a doorway - Goten's doorway.

“Help me Gohan!” Goten's voice screamed in his head. He clutched on to his head and gritted his teeth as that memory repeated it self over and over.

“…That's enough...” He said quietly but the voice continued, “ THAT'S ENOUGH DAMN IT!!” He yelled in to the black hallways and the voices quickly hushed. Taking a deep breath and running his hands through his hair, Gohan continued to search for clues as to where Broly might be.

Brook landed in a rocky area and saw a quiet deserted house with a peaceful courtyard in front.

“This must be it.” Brook said to herself and reached down to her thigh where a gun holster was strapped. She took out the gun and cocked it and cautiously inspected the house. She walked down the eerie dark halls and peeked inside each room. Her foot suddenly stepped on a piece of glass and it cracked under her foot. She picked up a picture frame and brushed off the dust. She saw an old man and a young boy with dark outrageous hair. He had a tail and held a red staff. “I bet this is Goku...” She whispered and set the picture on a table. She continued through the house when she noticed that the corner of a rug had been turned up. Brook flipped over the rug and saw a trap door.

“Well this isn't suspicious.” Lifting the door Brook ventured down into the basement.

There were puddles on the floor, rats running from left and right, and there across the room was a man chained up on the wall. She rushed over to him and took a good look at him. His hair was black and spiked up high. He wore a blue body suit and white gloves and boots. He was covered in abrasions and had a massive cut across his side where blood soaked into his clothes. Brook felt for a pulse but found nothing he had been long dead. Carefully she broke the chains and rested the man's body on a table. She took a wet rag and cleaned him up a bit

“Gohan's not gonna like this.” Brook sighed and rubbed the back of her neck. Suddenly she heard a creak in the floor and a dark shadow fell upon her. Brook turned slowly and looked up seeing a silhouette of a giant of a man. She smirked and stared him straight in the eye. “So…You're Broly. I'm gonna need a bigger gun.” Broly quickly went for Brook's neck and she dodged him swiftly. She aimed her gun for his head and pulled the trigger. The bullet ricocheted right off his skull and wedged itself in a piece of wood. Brook stared down at her gun and then at Broly. “What the fuck?” she felt a hard tug on the back of her jacket as she was lifted off the ground.

“Kakarott's boy must've sent you. But why someone so weak?” He said to her face.

“Uh-oh…” Brook was suddenly flung into the wall of the basement like a rag doll. The walls shook as she smacked hard in to the hard stone leaving spider-web like cracks. She took in a gasp of air as it was knocked out of her. Broly walked over to her and grabbed her by the neck and dragged her upstairs.

“Do not interfere with my plans girl. It doesn't involve you.” He said while slamming her against a wall. He pulled her away and tossed her across the room in to a bookshelf. It shattered into pieces and parts of the wall had crumbled. She fell to the ground cringing in pain and crawled through the ruble. He picked her up by her shirt and smiled at her. The air had been electrified and small sparks of electricity snapped around Broly's body as his hair began to slowly rise to point. A sudden flash of light blinded her and when Brook opened her eyes Broly's hair was golden and his eyes emerald green. “Now girl it's time to show you what death is like.” Brook stared him down like she wasn't afraid of anything. Broly's hands formed a bright energy attack.

“I'm not done with you, Broly.” She growled through clenched teeth.

“That's funny cause I'm most certainly done with you.” He let loose the blast and it sent her flying through the roof into the sky. Minutes later she came falling to the earth with fatal wounds covering her body. She was unconscious and fell through a patch of woods before hitting the forest floor bleeding and bruised. It seemed grim Brook was on the brink of death, Gohan had turned fully human, and Broly was on the hunt.
