Chapter 3


 "I was worried it wouldn't fit." I said as I smoothed my hands over the dress. I was donned in the blue flowing dress. Kat put on a little makeup on me after I gave in, due to her begging, and if-you-want-him-to-like-you speech. Of course I did want him to like me. She also did my hair. I have long light brown hair to my shoulders. Kat put it in a bun where some strands of my hair were loose around my face, and slightly curled them.

 "You look great, Kaoru." Kat said, as she put a necklace around my neck. It was just a silver chain. She wore the red dress. "Well, I'm going ahead." She said as she left.

 I stare in the mirror at me. I was pretty I guess. "I don't know what to do." I said. "No man has ever been interested in me before." At least I don't think there was, I thought, Hmm, now that I think about it there was one guy in college. I shrugged, Oh well. I heard a knock at the door, and slightly jump, startled. A man was at the door, not Gage, looking at me. He was dressed in a butler uniform. He bowed, "Master Gage has requested for you to come. He was quite worried, that you have forgotten about dinner.".

 "Oh. Sorry!" I said as I took his arm he offered. "How long did dinner start?". He gave a smile, "Not yet. Master Gage has everyone waiting. And his 'guests' are not the waiting kind.". "Oh." I said, hissing on the inside, as he walked me toward the dinner hall. Not a good impression to make, I thought. They must be Rich or something.

 The dinner room was as elegant as the rest of the mansion. A big long table in the middle with candles on it, a white table cloth, plates and wine classes sat, waiting. Gage was standing at the end behind a chair, with a few other people standing at their own looking at me as I walked in. The servant bowed and took his leave. I saw Kat standing at a chair. Gage smiled, "Come and sit here." He pointed at a chair on his right, next to Kat was standing. I nodded, and walked to it. The 'guests' was regal and poised, but their eyes followed me as I walked to the seat. I stood at mine, looking down avoiding the heated looks from them. Kat slightly elbowed me. I looked at her. Her head slightly jerked to Gage. I looked at him. He was looking at me, "Kaoru, these are my sister, and brothers." I looked at them each. "This is Gareth. He is my twin." 

 A man stood in front of me, looked like Gage except he had darker blond hair just to his shoulders, while Gage's was to his middle back, and his eyes were a darker blue. He was wearing a black suit. Gareth inclines his head, "Hello, Kaoru." His voice was almost like Gage. Deep, but also dark.

I smiled, and nodded at him. Gage continued, "This is my sister, Angelique." She was next to Gareth. She had long Blond hair, and blue eyes like Gage. She was wearing a white long dress. She smiled, "Just call me Angel." I smiled, and nodded with a slight laugh. She looks like a angel, I thought. She gave a sly smile.

Gage continues to another man next to Angel, he had long reddish blond hair just below his shoulders, with green eyes. He was wearing a grey suit. Right next to him was a man that looks exactly like him. dressed the same. "This is my other brothers, Ari, and his twin Avi." They both smiled, and nodded. I blushed, and nodded, "Hi. Wow. you have two set of twins in you family?" I asked looking at Gage. 

 He chuckles, "Yes. And that thing next to Avi is Elisa." Gage glared at her. The thing scowled at him before glaring at me. She had long white curly hair to her waist, and yellow eyes. She was wearing a scandalizes dress than Kat. it was very low cut just between her breasts, that looked fake, and it was silver sparkling studded.

 Gage looked at Avi, "Why is Elisa here?" He growled. He looked not happy, in fact he was pissed. His hands were clenched at his sides. Avi, shrugged, "She followed us. We couldn't get her to turn around and go back to her home." Gage let out a sigh, "Well, let's eat.". At that they all sat down. That was Gage, Gareth, Angel, Ari, Avi, and Elisa sat. Me and Kat still stood, blinking. Then Kat quickly followed suit before she elbowed me. I sat in the chair. Gage pick up a bell, and ringed it, then servants came in with food and a bottle of wine. Then they left quickly. I blinked, picking up a fork, and then looked at Gage

  Gage was looking at me, then he leans in and whispers, "You look very beautiful in that dress, Kaoru.". My heart did a whirly whirl. I blushed. Gage smiled at me. I smiled back. Oh my! I thought, Could he maybe be interested in me?

 "I can't believe you, Gage." Elisa said. her voice was deep for a woman. She took a sip of wine, as everyone looked at her. 

 "Elisa?" Gage asked, "What can't you believe?" He narrowed his eyes at her.
 
 Elisa sits her wine glass down and run her slender finger around the rim, "I can't believe you think she is beautiful, when obviously I am the more beautiful here.". That earned her glares from Angel, and Kat. Who look glamorizes in their dresses. 

 Angel narrowed her eyes at Elisa, "You're just jealous that brother's attention isn't focused on you, Elime dear." Angel smirked at the face of Elisa gave her. Elisa's face turned red with fury, "What did you call me?". Angel looked at me, "So Kaoru," She charged her direction to me, "Brother Gage is right you are beautiful in that dress. I am envious.". I blushed and smiled, "Thank you, Angel. But, I think you are than me.". Angel smiled. Kat put her two cents in, "I got to admit Kaoru. You do look stunning. I don't know why you don't dress up more often.". I shrugged, "I don't know." I looked at my plate and ate some food. I felt that everyone was staring at me.

 "I bet if Kevin saw you he would fall on his knees and beg you for a date." Kat said, taking a bite of steak. Gage narrowed his eyes at that. 

 I blinked, “Whose Kevin?” 
 Kat let out a sigh, "Honestly, Kaoru. He has been trying to get your attention for a year now. He is one of you co-workers." The only Kevin I know is the sleazy one. I groan inwards, I felt my stomach drop. Suddenly I wasn't that hungry. I took a drink of wine to keep down my food, and then I said, "Please Kat. I am trying to eat here." Gage had a relieve look on his face as I glanced at him.

 "Who exactly is this Kevin? Is he an ex-boyfriend?" Angel asked. Interested. Gage went tensed I noticed, and I swear I heard his teeth grind.

 "No." Kat said. Gage relax, and took a drink of wine. "He's, well, what's the word?"
  "Sleazy." I answered for her, "Mean, arrogant, a pig, a man-whore."
 "Okay, Kaoru!" Kat said through gritted teeth, "You're right."

 I gave her a shy smiled. Gage smiled, "I take it your opinion of this Kevin isn't a high one?" I nodded no, and slightly laughed. Gareth spoke this time, "Gage has a very high opinion of you, Kaoru." That earned a watch-it glare from Gage. Gareth smirked at that, "Isn't that right, brother?" 
 Gage slightly growled then stopped, but the blush on his cheeks gave him away "I suppose. Now, what has been happening in At-" He gave me a quick glance, than said, "At home?"
 Gareth chuckles, at Gage's slip, "Well, Father isn't happy at the moment with you." Gage nods, "I suppose not."
 "Mother, has had her hands full." Angel inputted, "I don't know how mother puts up with his tirades. If I was her I would take his tryt-Cane and hit him over his head a few times." 
 "He's still angry at me for leaving?" Gage said, looking at the window to the ocean, his hand stroking his chin, then he look back at us. I blinked in confusion. 
 "He'll-" Ari said, "Get over it." Avi finished.
 "Aye, he will." Gareth said, looking at me, "Father is more understanding, than uncle Tritan. You know how uncle acted when one of his daughters left."

 "Aye." Gage said rubbing his face with his palm. He took a sip from his glass, then glance at me. I gave a smile as I ate. He smiled then turned his attention back to his brother. I looked at Kat, who was very much interested in their discussion. I looked back, and saw Elisa giving me the evil eye, while she stabs her fork in her food. I'm betting that's me by that look, I thought as I swallowed. I turned my attention back to Gage and his brother who were talking.

 Angel smiled, "Kaoru. Do you have a boyfriend back home?" The conversion between Gage and Gareth stopped.

 "I bet she must have one." Gareth said, then grinned as Gage glares at him, "Or mayhap two?" Gage gave a growl. I looked at him, and he quickly covered it up with a cough. I slightly smiled, then nodded no, blushing. "You're kidding?" Gareth said, "then there must be men beating down your door for a date?"

 "Oh please." Elisa said, "What man would want her!"
 Kat glared at her, "I so happen to know a few men that does! She's just waiting for the right one to come along. She turned down Kevin flat when he asked her out."

 Elisa scoffs, "Really? Please, I bet Kevin isn't as handsome as Gage. Gage beats every man in looks!" Well, she's right about that! I thought. Kevin was shorter than Gage, had short brown hair that was balding on the top, and he was older, around 40 something, and had had several divorces. Yes, Gage is a grade A prime beefcake, I thought, I would definitely pick Gage over him!

 Angel smiled at Gage, "I will have to agree. You are a grade A prime beefcake, brother!" I gasped inside; Did I say it out loud?! I thought. Everyone laughed, except Elisa.

 Gage smiled, then glances at me, "Thanks, sis." he glanced back at her, "But that is really freaky coming from you." Angel laughed. Gareth blinks, "Hey, I look just like him, aren't I a grade A whatever?" Angel patted his shoulder, "Yes, Gareth. You're a grade A prime cheesecake." Everyone laughed, even I did. Gareth glared at her. Angel grinned in mischief.

 Gage chuckles, "Well, since dinner is over shall we retire to the main room?"
