Chapter 8: Lassos and Monsters

"Gosh, you're a biggen," Vernon says tipping back his hat. "No wonder you needed help kid." Silas had decided to accompany Vernon on his trip here. The kid wouldn't say it but he was worried that the cowboy was getting too big for his boots.

"I didn't say that I needed help, I'm here to make sure you're stupid cowboy butt doesn't get laid out." Silas unsheathes his sword as they approach the trash monster. Vernon lets out a hearty laugh at the young boy.

"Bigger things have tried boy, and they all have failed." Grabbing the lasso from his hip he lines the rope in his hands. The rough and weathered rope scratched against his calloused hands. "You may be from the future but I've been bounty huntin' longer than you've been alive." The pair of them roll up on the beast. "Now start up those demon powers we've got us a beast to wrastle." Vernon pauses for a moment, remembering the few injuries Silas came back with before. "Actually, you sit this one out. Let the professionals handle this." Vernon approaches now alone, his hand holding down his hat. His hand starts off the lasso getting good speed on it before wrapping it around the two tree-type horns on its head. The monster thrashes slightly yanking Vern off his feet. He could already tell he'd need to visit Avalon for some healing after this. Yanking himself upwards he swings around the beast, tying and tripping him up to get him on the floor. His boots firmly plant themselves on its back before pulling. Grunts and groans come from Vernon as he wrangles it into a more vulnerable situation. Vernon holds his hat on his head as he rides that beast right into the ground. While he topples it Silas loses sight of the cowboy.
"Vernon!!" Silas stands up running over to search the wreckage.

"Now that! Is what I call fun!" Vernon pops up with a big grin on his face. "You said this thing was difficult." Silas just laughs at him, shaking his head.
