Episode 9: The New Recruits

Gallant: [over the radio] Command this is Gallant, do you read me? Over.

Officer 1: I read you Gallant, what is your request?

Gallant: We've been in a bit of trouble. Two of our men are dead and we have continued to fail the mission.

Officer 1: Hmm….sucks to be you.

Gallant: Yes I know, can you send more men to help us?

Officer 1: Roger that, we'll have two of them there within about 5 minutes.

Gallant: Roger that, over and out! [Turns off radio]

Melissa: What did they say?

Gallant: Two men will be here in about 5 minutes.

Melissa: Do you know anything about them?

Gallant: No, but knowing command, they'll send us the best men they can.

(At the Command Post)

Officer 1: Hey let's give them the crappiest we've got!

Officer 2: You mean we give them-?

Officer 1: Yeah, we give them THOSE guys.

Officer 2: This is gonna rock! You think we'll get in trouble?

Officer 1: Naw, command hates Scout Troop Beta anyway.

(Back at Beta's Base)

Gallant: I don't think there is any need to worry.

Leo: [calling out] Hey duuuuudes! Anyone home?

Carl: Hey man! Is this the place we get to blow up?!?!!?

Leo: No dude! This is like….Scout Troop Beta or something!

Gallant: Oh it seems our new recruits are here. [Walks to them] Hello soldiers, my name is Gallant and this is Melissa. What are your names?

Leo: I'm Leo dude, I mean sir!

Carl: I'm Carl! When do we get to blow stuff up?!?!?!

Gallant: Umm….eventually. Melissa I think command screwed us over again.

Melissa: They can't be that bad. [Turns to Leo and Carl] what are your specialties?

Leo: Well uuuuuuh….I can shoot stuff? I can also be really stealthy too.

Carl: I like to make things explode! They say I have problems at the clinic but once I blow something up I feel ok!

Melissa: [Turns to Gallant] I think you are right sir. What should we do with them?

Gallant: I guess we should let them stay. It's not easy just having two people on a team.

Leo: Hey can I bunk with the hot chick?

Melissa: Oh dear god.

Carl: Yeah can I sleep in the explosives room?

Gallant: No, we each have our own rooms, but we have no time for that. We have to finish our mission first.

Leo: Dude, like, what's that?

Gallant: To destroy the Covenant in this area and beat Scout Troop Alpha, making it look like a complete accident!

Carl: Aren't they like Spartans too though?

Gallant: Yes, but we have things to settle with them.

(At Alpha's Base)

Jackson: I think this will make a fine new home until we find a better one.

Garland: Where are we supposed to sleep? There is only one room!

Jackson: We sleep on the floor, just like at our other base.

Lucas: How come we had to sleep on floors anyway?

Jackson: Because Command hates us.

Amber: They don't hate me. I always got the best bed at my last base.

Garland: Well congrats for you Ms. High Command.

Jackson: Now we must set up our defenses. Lucas, you get sniper position again.

Lucas: Craaaap!

Jackson: Garland, you are in charge of vehicles.

Garland: Ours got blown up, remember?

Jackson: Then that makes you in charge of finding us another one. Now get to it!

Garland: Ok! [Leaves]

Jackson: Amber you um….do whatever you feel like doing. I'm not at a high enough command to give you orders.

Officer 1: [On the radio] Come in Private Jackson, this is Command.

Jackson: What is it Command?

Officer 1: It seems you have been promoted to Captain.

Jackson: What? What did I do to get that?

Officer 1: For being a good leader and helping us defeat the Covenants in your area.

Jackson: But we haven't-

Officer 1: Congrats Jackson, over and out [End radio transmission]

Jackson: Well well well, looks like I've been promoted to Captain. Guess I'm in charge again.

Amber: Um….I think I'm going to go scout the area, look for more weapons and supplies. Later! [Runs off]

Jackson: [laughs] I wonder why Command promoted me.

Officer 2: Hey did he buy it?

Officer 1: Yeah he totally thinks he's a captain now!

Officer 2: Awesome! Let's contact someone else!

Officer 1: Ok hold on [gets on radio] hello is anyone there?

Zantar: This is Captain Zantar, who is it?

Officer 1: This is your local cheese company and we'd like to-

Zantar: So it was you who put cheese in our weapons! I'm going to hunt you down and eat your intestines for that!

Officer 1: Whoa! [Gets off radio] Dude no more contacting random people!

Officer 2: Who was on it?

Officer 1: I think it was a Covenant!

Officer 2: Oh crap! Do you think he locked on to our coordinates when you contacted him?

(At the Covenant Base)

Zantar: Did you get the coordinates from the transmission?

Aisha: Yes sir, they are on the other side of the planet.

Zantar: Excellent, now I shall get my revenge.

Cole: Sir, what about the Spartans that are still here?

Zantar: We will handle them later. Ready the teleporters. It's time to leave.
