Dragon of Ireland

Fun story behind this:  I took a class on Mythology my serior year in HS. We were studying the stories of King Arthur and his knights.  My teacher was lecturing about the 'Dragon of Ireland' tale and when I should have been listening I drew this in my sketch book.  It's one of my best dragons I think.

It was a great class we read Beowulf, Bram Stokers Dracula, Robin Hood and of course the stories if King Arthur and his knights. We watched Monty Python's Holy Grail for fun at the end of the year.

A mighty beautiful dragon indeed Sliverbane. And you can really feel the power of him just by the look in his eyes. And I think you were paying attention even if you were sketching because look what you came up with. Awesome detail. This dragon is wonderful. ^_^

He does look powerful doesn't he? I've really grown fond of this sketch over the years. I love adding the details like that on my dragons...little scales and bumps. It's fun. I'm glad you like it!

Hehe, day dreamin'/thinkin during class, ah yeah, I remember that, for me, it was humanities with the study of greek mythology and all that jazz lol. I like the detail you put into the dragon, in a way, it reminds me more of a gryphon than a dragon, mostly because of the beak-looking snout. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to insult, just saying >< *please don't hurt me!* ><
