Dante And Vergil WIP

Posted Nov 14, 2005, 8:51:14 PM UTC
Okay... normally I am not one to post WIPs. But I am at a point where I need some feedback. I am in the process of drawing Dante and his twin brother Vergil from my favorite game in the whole wide world, Devil May Cry 3. Yes, I know. They are very hot.
But what I need help on is what kind of background to do for this. I normally refuse to do backgrounds because I am lazy and I can never think of something for them. So please, please, PLEASE if anyone has any pointers, please HELP ME!!!  Overall, I think this is looking pretty kewl so far. Vergil looks pretty hot. ;) Yay me! Yay my pencils! Yay Vergil for being hot! And Yay to all of you who give me ideas for the background. <----(Yes, that is a subliminal manipulation.) Love ya all! ^_^

    Wow!O.O
It looks wonderfun hun! You don't cease to amaze me!I think it's one of your best. What I'd like to see is an unfinished house, I mean it's metal structure to be seen behind them, as if they're standing on some high tower or something, and I actually picture some glow in the sky coming from among the clouds. I think it could be stunning that way. Is this the whole picture or that's all of it? I'd love to see their entire bodies, that would be so cool! Anyhow, it's awesome hun, and I'm sure it will look stunning when you finish it. Great job Kristy!Thumbs Up

    I'm under Advent Children influense
they were fighting in a similar setting. LOL It just so reminds me of that scene!

There are definitely going to be some kind of ruins behind them. I actually have a few statues sketched out. They are going to be a bit faded as I don't want them to take away from the main characters. And I will see what I can do about the glow. Do you mean almost like lightning coming through the dark sky? I will see if I can do something like that because it sounds like an awesome idea. Hopefully I can pull it off. Ponder Thank you so much for lending your creative ideas to me. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. All my love. Mwah!

I picture broken down buildings and such in the background cracked bricks , shattered glass, you know things that look torn apart. Oh and by the way they are very hot! I really wanted to play this game series but I got sucked into God Of War and then Shadow of the Colossus and Star Ocean...well I haven't gotten around to Devil May Cry yet. Great facial expressions too!

I like the way you think hun. That is exactly what I was thinking for the background. Smile And yes... they are so hot. You soooo need to play this game sometime. It has such amazing graphics. And I got my butt kicked a few times. And there is this one part where you go into this club and you can make Dante swing on the stripper pole. It is awesome! Laughing It is definitely my most favorite game of all time. Thank you so very much for your input on this. Hopefully I can put it all together and make something cool. Much love. ^_^

Thank you so much love. ^_^ I LOVE Dante as well. I love Vergil more though. I want to have his babies. Laughing Have you ever played this game before? If not, you definitely should. it kicks a*s! This scene is from one of my favorite parts of the game where the 2 brothers square off against each other. And I must admit, I died twice fighting Vergil. He is tough. But in the end, I had to beat him. I was sad to do it. He is so hot. I'm glad you like it. I hope I can muster up a good enough background for it. *crosses fingers* Much love. ^_^

        I played one and 2.

Oh I LOVE the first one. The second one I detest. It was made very poorly. I hated how they strayed so far from the original. I was disappointed. And the third one is my FAVE. Plus they went back to the original concepts of the first one. SO I was happy. It is pretty difficult though. But definitely worth the effort. Wink Thanks again. All my love. ^_^

Holy shit girl this is good...I would add a light sorse or two on the swords. For the back ground crashing waves would be cool like one almost right on top of them( on top hehehehehe Pervert)

Doh! You're right. I forgot the light source. Thank you for bringing that to my attention hun. I will definitely fix that when I finish it. And I really do appreciate your advice on what to do for the back ground. I am going to go work on it now. I hope you are having fun in your jacuzzi. Sad Much love to my favorite pervert. Wink

    looks pretty good so far.
what you may want to do for the background is some dramatic clouds like it's going to storm. that wouldn't be too hard to do and it would fit the mood nicely.

Wonderful idea Susie. Thank you so much for the feedback. I think the ominous clouds are definitely going into it. And I am thinking about making some castle ruins around them. Yeah... that actually sounds good. Now I must wave my magic wand and tell my pencils to create it and it will be so. Laughing Man.. I need less coffee. But anyway, thank you once again. I really appreciate the help. Much love. ^_^

Oh yeah a castle would be cool. You should put it as a silhouette in the distance. It would be easier and faster to draw that way and it would give you a chance to put some atmospheric perspective in there to add to the mood.
        • Nov 15, 2005, 9:13:59 AM UTC
Exactly. And in the game, they are fighting on top of a broken down castle so I think it would fit. They are fighting in the rain, but I am not quite sure how to pull that off, so I will just make it dark and gloomy. Thank you so very much for your ideas Susie. It is so very helpful to me. Much love. ^_^

Well... Is it really subliminal if you told us it was subliminal?? Ponder Well this is looking great so far hun!! I think maybe an outdoorsy type thing would work for this, maybe a sort of blurred scene of trees, kind of out of focus on the edges, an in focus in the middle so it kind of brings the attention to the two fighting? How about that? Hope I helped hun!! Grin

Thank you so very much for your wonderful ideas honey. It really means alot to me to have my friends come together to try to help me. I am not quite sure what I will end up doing, but I hope it turns out cool. I just love how these guys turned out. I must go huggle my pencils now. ^_^ All my lovesies. Mwah!

Outdoors. It has to be outdoors. I can see it with a darkly clouded sky... they would be standing atop a mountain crag. Sharp rocks. This looks awesome so far! I love the fact that you're starting to add in some really DARK darks. It makes the piece pop out so much more. Mwah! All my love,
    Mr. Butmer

Oh yes. I think I shall definitely do an outdoors background. With an overcast sky. I was thinking about putting some kind of castle ruins in the background maybe. Ponder We'll see what my pencils can come up with. Smile I am glad that you like how this is turning out. I am quite happy so far. Now hopefully I can get a kick butt background on it. Thank you so very much for your help and your encouragement. All my love to you my dear hubby. ^_^

Righto! Just let me know when you have the finished copy for me to look at, ok? I don't want to miss it. Wink

Kristy, your stuff just keeps gettin' better and better! WoOt!
I'm not sure exactly what type of background you'd like (outdoors, indoors, any specifics), but I might suggest checking out magazines or photo books for reference? That helps me a lot in my b&w drawings.
Sorry to not be more helpful! Tongue I can't wait to see this finished! Bounce

Know what hun? I am not sure what kind of background I want either. Laughing But I honestly appreciate your help in this matter. I am definitely going to look through books for stuff. Want to know something embarrassing? I cannot draw a tree. >_< I'm serious. I have never been able to. Sad I really should practice that huh? I am getting some really great ideas from all of you though. I hope I can get this one finished by tomorrow. Thank you again so very much sweetheart for all of your help. All my love. mwah! ^_^
      • Nov 16, 2005, 1:42:45 PM UTC
Lol! I can't draw trees either Laughing
I do love this picture; good luck with that background! ^_^
        • Nov 16, 2005, 1:54:37 PM UTC
It's done hun! It really is. And I spent all day yesterday doing the background. I have a few things to fix here and there, but I like how it looks for the most part. I need to figure out how to do the clouds better though. :ponders. Any advice? All my love to you. Mwah!
