A trio of infected ponies galloped into the chamber where the Crystal Heart rested in Flurry Heart's crstallized embrace. Their faces were morphed, shifting unnaturally like smoke and taking on a skeletal appearance. It seems an old enemy of the Empire had found a new way to escape their impressionment...by taking over the bodies of those overwhelmed with despair. They entered the chamber now to attack the heart...so that they all might be freed once more!

Anytime a pony interacts with a warped infected, they must make a WIS stat check. This is because the Umbrum can cast illusions that show a pony their worst fears. Any roll 3-5 will have a pony experience such an illusion. To free your character, you must (separate from this thread) write or draw a piece showing what your character experienced. They are then free to interact with the event as before.

Cobalt Streaks's eyes narrowed at the boughts of infected. These monsters...they had bursted through the defenses.

What to do now? The question rung in Cobalt's head as he scratched at his stubble, furrowing his eyebrows whilst he pondered. Then, an idea struck. He had to brute force his way through the horde. A good defense is a great offense... that's how the quote went, right?

Before he could enter the fray, Cobalt needed to find a weapon. Something that could stave off the Umbrum, but also something that couldn't hurt the heavily infected ponies. What was there to use..?

Pale Blossom rushed in to try and stop the umbrum from their plans, out of the corner of her eye spotting Cobalt looking for something. Thinking a bit recklessly, she moved to distract the umbrum by turning their attention to her. She wasn't sure how else to do so but attempt to buck at them with her hind legs to take their focus for as long as she possibly can.

(Rolled a 3 for WIS)

Wildifre had heard stories of the Crystal Empire of old. Not only the Heart desperately needed protection, so did the Princess of this land. Luckily she was already on the edge of the crowd, so she probably wouldn't have too much trouble ducking away and running for the center of the city. She arrived just in time to see Pale buck at a warped. There were two more left to go for the Heart, or Colbalt. Wildfire opened her saddle bag and vines unfurled around her in the embrace of her magic. She attemped to wrap them around the closest warped to the Heart, binding them up, but leaving enough long vine so that she was still holding them in the air by a long string. 

(WIS check passed with a 7.)

Rime charged into the chamber after the warped, his crystalline hooves pounding against the hard crystal floor as he went to ram one of them away from the heart. This was his home - he couldn't see it destroyed after everyone had fought so hard against the infection for the last 50 years. He had to do something!

Mixtus was very confused by whatever was suddenly happening. One moment he'd been hiding under a picnic table, quietly crying about his inevitable crystelline doom, and the next moment everyone was screaming. He stepped out from his hiding spot, saw the warped infected for himself, and immediately fled in terror. Running in blind panic after the nearest group of ponies, he unknowingly joined in with those hurrying to defend the Crystal Heart. He screamed and flailed, kicking and horn-poking at any monsters that got too close, as he tried desperately to keep up with the others.

Mixtus rolled a 4, and is now freaking out for a new reason.

boho bloom had been in the heart area trying to cheer up spirits by being creative and decorating the palace. the last thing she expected to run into was a bunch of possessed skeleton creatures. stunned at first she did little to stop them from charging past. however, upon realizing where they were headed she ran after them, hoping she wasn't too late to help the others. As she ran into the fray she aimed to attack with her horns, lowering her head to run into one of the infected. 

WIS rolled a 9 and has dodged the illusions

Roll a WIS Stat Check to see what he can find! 1-3 he finds nothing, 4-7 he finds an object that he can swing around, but it probably won't do much damage, and 8+ he finds something solid to swing.

The Umbrum is certainly distracted for a moment by her actions. It hisses and glowers at her, it's smokey eyes swirling hypnotically. Pale Blossom is trapped in an illusion!

Roll a DEX stat check to see if she can snag the closest warped infected! 1-4 misses, 5-8 lashes the infected by doesn't quite bind him, and 9+ successfully wraps him in vines!
