Chapter 3: 3: 231 words

Prompt 3: Named attack

What harm would there be to give him a taste of his own medicine? None, Caspian thought.

There was a trademark thing the Athos liked to do - as corny as it was, he liked the name he had given to the violence he could unleash.

The Tilting Torque.

Unimaginative - but then again, what wouldn't be? Caspian was bad at names. It was nothing new. The weapon that was used for the Torque was already named Liar's Collar - but it mattered little.

What mattered was how much death and chaos it could spread in its wake. It only needed a cut big enough to supply enough blood for its use.

For Caspian, slashes big or small were child's play. The blades that spun around his neck only nicked his skin more, and gave his ire more medium to work with. The wounds the collar made would heal, and slash open again continuously. He was a vessel that couldn't be emptied. He was eternal, he was unending.

The tilting was how the collar of blades positioned itself. The sharper edges pointed outwards in an angle, ready to strike when signaled to do so. They pulsated in the rhythm of his adrenaline-filled heart.

Its root and beginning was that very collar. The torque. Everything the attack held within its name and essence, circled the crystallized collar, and its master's neck like a bloodthirsty hound.
