Chapter 4: 4: 235 words
Prompt 4: Show your character using the environment to their advantage!
Caspian wasn't sly. He wasn't small and stealthy. Nothing he was could be counted as sneaky. He was clumsy, and too tall for most spaces. If he didn't bump his head into something, his horns took on the task like it was the meaning of their so-called life.
The guild ship was roomy. It had plenty of places to hide. Shadows to melt into. Things to climb. Boxes stacked on top of another. Chandeliers to hang from. Walls were textured and cluttered enough for many to climb. It was a heaven for thieves and their countless gangs.
None of that helped Caspian. He knew he wasn't a master of stealth. He didn't care. What would come straight at him, he could face - if it was well or not so well, held no significance. It was what the eternal had, and it had to be enough.
Of course, walking along the lines of the sharp shadows gave at least some sort of advantage. Big or small, anything was better than none. He could crouch, but he couldn't bother. His hair and large frame would give him away anyway. The shadows were his best bet, and it was what he used.
A shame that they were so small. Caspian had to hug the wall the best he could. His scales scraped the wood, and the whole ordeal sounded like nails on a chalkboard to his sensitive ears.
