Chapter 3: The Kiss and The Truth

Chapter 3: The Kiss and The Truth

When I woke up the next day, I was laying on my bed, my eyes where sore. I couldn't get my eyes focused. "Karin?" Vincent asked. I felt a hand on my forehead. "You passed out last night.". "I did?" I said trying to get my eyes to focus. I saw a figure, it had to be Vincent, but I saw something else, that was behind his back. It was like wings. "Yes. We need to talk, about your father, and why the demons are after you." "Father? Demons?" I said, my eyes coming in focus. "Yes." Vincent said. My eyes became clear, and I saw Vincent standing beside my bed, peering down at me.

Vincent looked different. His hair was way longer, almost to the ground, and he had one white wing, and one black wing, coming out of his back. "What?! Vincent?!" I said surprisingly, jerking up. Vincent, curls his wings around him, "Yes, It is me. The real me.". "Vincent? Are you a angel?" I asked. I couldn't believe my eyes. He looked more beautiful. "Not exactly." Vincent replied, shyly.

He was acting different. Almost like he was a different person, but looked the same. "What's going on, Vincent? I don't understand." I pleaded. Vincent, straightens his wings out, "Ever since your father betrayed Hell, Hell, has been taken over by your father's brother." "Brother? Father said he didn't have any siblings." I said. "Yes, I guess he wouldn't tell you about him." Vincent said as he sat down next to me. "Your father's brother, your uncle, isn't the most loving person." Vincent slightly laughs glancing at me.

I still didn't understand. "Vincent, this is very hard to understand." I said sadly. Vincent leans toward me, and hugs me. "I know. I will explain. Your father, fell in love with a human, your mother, before you where born. How he meet her, I don't even know, but one day, he said "I quit!" then left, and became a mortal. Every demon was furious, but you're uncle was happy, not for you're father, but because he could take over Hell, and he became the new King of Hell."

Vincent lets me go. "When your father left, I was still young, and I adored him. Even though, you're uncle, took over, I still served you're father." I started remembering. There was a boy who came over when I was little, had black hair, and blue ice eyes. He followed me everywhere, and played with me. "When I was little, you was that boy! That was you!" I said shockingly, but happy. Vincent smiles "Yes, I'm glad you finally remembered me.".

Vincent, suddenly became serious, "Those demons, are after you cause, you're uncle, wants you to come to Hell and become his servant." "WHAT?!" I said loudly. "When he found out why your father left Hell, he sent demons to cause that accident, when you died, you would go to hell and serve there, for him." Vincent said, putting his hand up to his face. "But, you didn't, so now, he is sending out demons, now to kill you again.". "How? Why? Then, how come I am alive?" I asked, in shock.

"Well it seems, something, or someone saved you, from the car crash." Vincent said, with blushing cheeks. "Who? Was it you, Vincent? Did you help me out of the car?" I asked. Vincent nodding, "Yes, I pulled you out. But before I could get to you're parents, it exploded. Even though your father was Satan, he was mortal, and he died, like all mortals does.". Vincent went silent.

Then his wings disappear and his hair shorten back to normal. "Vincent?" I asked. "I'm not an Angel, or a Demon. I don't know what I am now." "What do you mean?" I asked. "Before, I was a demon, a full blooded one, but after I saved you, I changed. " Vincent said. "How? Your wings are different. One black and the other." "White." Vincent interrupted. "Yes. So, Demons have black wings, right?" I replied. "Yes, a full blooded one does." Vincent answered. "And Angels have white wings." "Yes. Somehow, one of my wings turned white." Vincent said looking down.

I didn't know what to say, or think of saying to him. How could I? I couldn't say anything. I wanted to ask him, about everything, but I couldn't put my words together. Vincent sat there, looking down, like he was in thought. "Before I left you, I put a barrier, on you, so that those demons couldn't find you." Vincent finally spoke.

"But, somehow, the barrier didn't last." Then he suddenly looks at me. His ice eyes focus on me alone. "And I came here to protect you, from those demons, and Satan. I, somehow, when you're father was fading away, he, told me to protect you. Even though, he didn't have to ask, I-" Then his hand bushed my cheek, whipeing a tear that escaped "I would have anyway." Vincent said as he lean in and kissed my lips. I didn't push him anyway. I let him kiss me. His lips were soft, and warm. I wanted him to keep kissing me. Then, there was a knock on the door, and Vincent quickly stopped kissing me. "You better not, answer that. I will." Vincent opened the door.

Jacob was standing on the other side, wide eyed. "Y-You?! Why are you here?!" Jacob yells angrily. I knew I had to stop Jacob. "It's okay, Jacob!" I said as I rushed over beside Vincent. "Why is he here?" Jacob asked trying to calm himself. "He's here, cause-" "That's really none of your business, Jake-up. Now is it? " Vincent said seriously. Jacob, blushes angrily, "It's Jacob, not Jake-up.". Jacob looks at me, like he was disappointed. "You missed school, today. Was you with him all day?" "Huh?!" I said surprised. I looked at the clock, and saw it was 6pm. "Oh, no! I'm late for work too! I got to go!" as I rushed to put on my work badge. "I'll walk you there." Vincent said.

Jacob grabs my hand, "No I will!". "Jacob!?" I said as he leads me out of my apartment. I looked back and didn't see Vincent following. Vincent? "Why was he there, Karin!?" Jacob asked. "Why wasn't you at school!? You and him were here together, all day?!" Jacob asked again. His hand was squeezing my hand more and more. "Ouch, Jacob, please let my hand go, you're hurting my hand!" I pleaded. Jacob, stopped in a ally next to the shop. Jacob, lets my hand go, turning away from me, "Sorry, Karin. It's just ever since he came, I have been, I don't know. It's like something inside is raging.". I didn't understand. "What do you mean, Jacob?" I asked. My back was to the brick wall. Jacob was shaking. "Jacob, are you alright?!". Jacob starts growling. I wide eyed. This wasn't a human growl, but of something evil. "I finally found you, Karin." Then Jacob turned to me his eyes were burning red, and had a evil smirk on his face. "W-What?! Jacob?"

Jacob evilly laughs, then his hair grows out black, and bat wings pops out of his back, and fangs appeared. "You don't have to call me, Jacob anymore, Karin, just call me Satan." I wide eyed. "N-No!" Jacob? This isn't Jacob? Satan drew closer to me, "I have been looking for you for a year now. I wonder why?" Then he puts his hand on the wall above me. I started to shake. Fear was taking over. Satan, leans closer to my hair, and sniffs. "I have never had a human before." His other hand touched my hair, and he smells. "And I have never had a niece either." Evilly laughing.

I quickly ran away down the alley, toward home. Where Vincent was. Vincent?! I yelled in my mind tears rolling down my face. Then demons appeared at the opening of the alleyway. I stopped, then I stepped back, and someone grabbed me behind. I screamed. I saw the demons withdrawing. I looked and saw Vincent with his wings out. "Vincent?!" I said as I hugged him. " I shouldn't have let you go." Vincent said.

Then Evil laughter "So." Satan said as he appears in front of us. Vincent covers me behind him. "You put a barrier on her, so I couldn't find her! You betrayed your own kind, for a mortal, just like my brother!" Satan said pointing at Vincent. "Vincent!" Satan yelled. "I did what I wanted to. I am a loyal servant of the pervious King of Hell, not you!" Vincent yelled back. Satan laughs, disappearing, "We'll meet again, Karin." "Jacob?!" I yelled crying. "He's not Jacob, anymore. He wasn't Jacob to begin with." Vincent replied. "Why? Why did he?" I said. Vincent holds me, "I didn't notice him. I couldn't sense he was fake.". Vincent curls his wings around the both of us, as I cried. "I'm sorry." was all Vincent said.
