Chapter 2

"Are you sure you didn't hear anything last night or the other night?" I asked the lady again. She nods no. "Oh, well, it must be my imagination. Sorry." I said locking my door the next morning. I looked over at the eerie mansion. Since, today is a day I have no classes, maybe I should go and knock on the door, I thought preparing myself.

I took a step. "Ms. Yasuki!" The landlady yelled. I slightly jumped, "Yes Ma'am!" I said looking at her. The landlady name is Mrs. Hewitt. She's old, with grey hair, and fat. She reminds me of a pit bull. "You was late with the rent yesterday!" Mrs. Hewitt growled. "I'm sorry, but I was only a minute late." "First it will be a minute, then hours, and then months! Make sure you are on time with every payment, Ms. Yasuki! Or I will kick you out of here!" Mrs. Hewitt said walking by me. "Yes. Ma'am." I said.

"Oh, I have a grandson, who wants to meet you, Ms. Yasuki. I told him about your situation." She stopped by me. "My situation?" I asked. "Yes. Your over the age of marriage. You should marry soon, and forget your education of being a doctor. Since your failing a class." She laughed. "How did you know I was failing a class?" I asked. Mrs. Hewitt, glances at me, "There isn't hardly anything that can get pass me, Ms. Yasuki." She walked away.

Old geezer! She's been onto my case ever since I moved in, I thought growling. I looked at the mansion. The windows were painted black, the boards were gone that barely covered them. I walked across to the mansion, and stood at the opened gate. Dead vines covered it all over, some were falling off of it. The grey paint was peeling off. It was in a bad need of new paint. I swallowed, then walked up the steps. They were squeaking as I stepped up onto the porch.

The door had a knocker on it that was rusted. I knocked it once. There was no answer. I knocked it again. Still no answer. There has to be someone here, cause I saw three people here the night before, I thought. I knocked again, then suddenly the door opened. I stepped back. A guy appeared at the door. He had Shoulder length brown hair, and brown eyes. He was handsome, and tall. "May I help you, Miss?" He said, leaning on the door. My heart was racing. "Um, um, I wanted to welcome you here, and um," I stuttered. He smiles. "So you are the only one who came to welcome us in this neighborhood." He said, opening the door wider, "Please Come in!". He motioned for me to come in.

I nodded nervously. I walked in, and the guy closed the door. Inside the mansion, it was cleaned. No cobwebs, No dust. The furniture was Victorian style, red. A big spiral staircase that led upstairs. Everything was beautiful. "Wow." I said looking around. "Are you surprised?" The guy asked. I nodded. The guy laughed. I looked at him. He walked close to me. I blushed, then stepped back a step.

"I'm sorry. I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Ken." Ken said, taking my hand then kissing it. I blushed. "N-Nami Yasuki. My name is." I said without knowing how I said it. Ken chuckles at me. "I'm sorry but my other two roommates aren't available right now." "Oh, that's too bad." I replied. "I'm sure they will be happy to know that you came by to welcome them." Ken replied. "Thank you, Mr. Ken.". "Just call me Ken." "Ok, Ken." I blushed.

"Here's some tea." Ken said, as he hand me a cup. "Thanks." I replied as I took it. "Please sit down." Ken said pointing at the red couch. I obeyed, and sat down. Ken sat beside me. "So, how did you know we moved in?" Ken asked watching me take a sip. "I saw candle lights through the boarded up windows." I replied, with the cup still up to my mouth. "Oh. We still haven't got the electric company to come by to turn it on." Ken sighed. I sipped the tea.

"Are you going to fix the outside up too?" I asked. Ken nods. "Yes, I have been working night and day on the inside, and I still haven't gotten all the inside cleaned." Ken laughed. I laughed sitting down the cup on the table in front of us. "Well, it looks really good on the inside. So old fashion." I said. "Thank you." Ken said leaning close to me.

Ken touches a strain of my hair. "You've got beautiful hair, Nami. And your eyes are beautiful." . I blushed. No one has ever said something like that to me. "T-Thank you." I said softly. "Lin will be interested in meeting you." "Lin?" I asked. Ken chuckles then backs off, and stands up . "Ah! It's already that late." Ken said looking at a old clock on the wall. "Hm?" I said looking at the clock. "It's 6pm. Lin and Mori will be up soon." Ken said, then looked at me. "Lin and Mori? Is that the other two leaving here?".

Ken nods, then walks in front of me. "Yes. They have been... Working all night. They are artists. So they spend their time working at night and they sleep in the daytime.". "Oh." I said. That was all I could say. Ken was peering down at me, into my eyes. "I'll have to warn you, Nami." "Warn me!?" I said loudly. "Yes, Mori is sort of a playboy, when it comes to female visitors. Many haven't been around lately so-". Ken stares. "Ken?" I asked.

Then I felt arms around my shoulders. "Ken, why didn't you tell me there was a woman here!?" a voice said seductively behind me. I felt him nuzzle my neck. "Mori! Let her go!" Ken yelled. Mori quickly let me go. "Geez, Ken-inu. I haven't had a woman in so long. Not to mention a Virgin one, also." I wide eyed. Virgin?! How did he know, I thought turning to look at Mori.

Mori was tall, long silver hair, and green eyes. Dressed in a white Victorian style shirt, and black leather pants. He was smiling seductively. "I was right, wasn't I? Nami." Mori teased. "How did you know?!" I asked. Mori leans down close to me, "That you was a virgin or you name?". I blushed. "My name?". Mori lifts my chin up. "I overheard Ken saying it." "Oh." I said. Mori chuckles seductively, leaning in about to kiss me.

"Mori!" a deep voice called from behind. Mori quickly stops and back away. Then a man walks beside him. He had long black hair, piercing blue eyes, and was pale. He was beautiful. He was wearing black leather pants, a long black leather coat, and was tall. Ken walks beside the man, "This is Lin, Nami.". I stood up. "Hello." I blushed at Lin.

Lin walked over to me, and took my hand like Ken did before. "We have meet before, Nami. Last night. Under the full moon. With bats flying over." Lin said, then kissed my hand. "That was you?" I asked, with my heart racing. "Yes." Lin said, looking at me, still holding my hand. I blushed looking at his hand hold mine. His hand was cold.

"I wanted her." Mori whispered to Ken. I heard Ken "shh" him. Lin was looking into my eyes, intensively. I was getting nervous, and started to shake. Lin noticed, and let my hand go. "I'm sorry, do I make you feel uncomfortable?" Lin said apologizing. "No!" I said loudly. Lin slightly smiles.

My heart skipped a beat. What's going on with my heart, I thought as I put my hand to my heart. "Oh, it looks like she's in love." Mori teased. Love?! I thought, looking away from Lin. I just met him, how could I fall in love so easily? I thought.

"It is getting late. Can I walk you over to your apartment?" Lin asked. "Sure." I said looking at him. Lin offers his hand, and I took it. He walked me to my apartment door. "Thank you, Lin." I said. Lin smiles, then lifts my hand to his lips, and kisses my hand. I blushed.

"I am glad I finally met you formally. I would like to know more about you, Nami. May I ask for a date?". My heart raced. "Yes." I said looking into his mesmerizing blue eyes. Lin touches my face with his other cold hand, "Then I will come for you tomorrow night."Yes." I said. Lin leans down and kisses my cheek. "Good night, Nami." Lin said softly. "G-Goodnight, Lin." I said opening my door, and going in.

I quickly went to the window, to look out at Lin, But he was gone. 'How did he leave so fast?' I thought. I sighed, then sat in a chair, and lightly touch my cheek where he kissed. His lips were cold like his hands, I thought. All through my shower all I could think of was Lin. His eyes. Everything. I got dressed in my night gown, and laid down in bed. Replays of Lin kissing my hand and my cheek ran.

I giggled like a school girl, turning over. "I am in love!" I yelled. "I'm trying to sleep, over here!" a next door neighbor banged on the wall. "Sorry!" I yelled again. They stopped. I sighed looking at the window, in the distanced was the mansion that Lin was in. I can't wait for the date with Lin, I thought. I smiled, closing my eyes, and fell to sleep.
