Chapter 1: Boss Battle - Alchemical Gardening

1. Fight! The Trash Monster’s sheer size is a danger to the land and people of Wouagi. Draw or write your character fighting the Trash Monster to cut it down to size!

It took Rathyn, Ilthran and Drannor quite a bit to actually find the Trash Monster but thanks to the trail it left behind, one mixed of smell, noises and obvious wreckage of the surroundings, they finally found themselves standing in front of the imposing creature.

Rathyn, who was more interested in the specimen itself, mostly wanting to get samples from it, looked at the abomination with glittering eyes, hands held in front of himself like he was about to open the biggest present ever.

β€žLook, look, look! Isn’t it beautiful?? I can’t wait to dig through its contents!β€œ, he let out with sheer excitement to which Drannor simply shook his head in response. He couldn’t immediately say anything, his body was busy fighting the urge to hurl due to the strong smell which the creature was emitting. His nose burned and he pinched his nostrils close for a moment to calm down.

β€žHow can you be so happy..! It smells disgusting..! Who is even responsible for this!?β€œ He was about to rant more when the Trash Monster approached them, one of its legs hitting the ground with a soft thunk due to the ground being mostly mud.

Ilthran took a few steps, fear spreading in his eyes. β€žI-I’m sorry but I don’t think that I’ll be useful in this situation..!β€œ He wasn’t able to take Kite along, his golem was currently charging and for that reason all he could do was to analyze possible weaknesses. With a shaky hand he reached out to his glasses, activating its magicks to scan the Monster. The result was pretty obvious. β€žIts legs, you need to immobilize it!β€œ At least he managed to add something to the situation and therefore put more distance in between himself and the imminent danger, almost stumbling over a tree root.

β€žDon’t worry, cute scaredy cat, we got your back!β€œ

Being able to levitate, Rathyn simply hovered over to the tall creature. Due to its size it was damn slow and it took pretty long for one of its legs to be lifted and stomped down again. Same about its arms, it took big swings but they were pretty easy to follow. Laughing, the unhinged alchemist began to clip pieces off the monster. Some moss, branches, leaves, leftover metal pieces, even bugs and rotting flesh were among them. All being stuffed in an endless bag which he took along specifically for this situation. β€žAaah so beautiful, so much to get, I’m in heaven~β€œ, he chimed, floating from place to place while humming along to the different voices he got to hear coming from the Monster, now that he was this close.

Drannor in the meanwhile just sighed, not understanding how that guy could have so much fun. It was a shame how he didn’t really add anything to the fight yet so it fell to him to protect his half brother. His gaze was aimed at Ilthran for a moment, smiling. β€žDon’t worry, I’ll protect you.β€œ

In a flash the dhampir disappeared, moving swiftly towards the smelly creature. Thankfully he was able to hold his breath for quite a while due to his bodily changes. His movements were so fast that it looked like teleporting to the naked eye, making his way around one of the big legs. His dual blades began to cut into it, moss and mud flying everywhere, slowly chipping away and thinning out the density. It took a while, moaning and multiple voices echoed through their surroundings when the Trash Monster vocalized its anger with the annoying visitors.

β€žA bit of this, a bit of that… Hm hmhm and some of this as well~ How I wish that I could dig through you but maaaaybe I can do so later, when you’re about to die hehe.β€œ The draconic elf stuffed some more ingredients into his bag, worms and cables as well as mushrooms of funny colors.

β€žGood enough! Drannor? Could you take a wee bit of distance for me?β€œ He used his magic to let his voice echo extra loud so the Dhampir couldn’t miss out on the order and he was so kind to actually follow through. With a flash he reappeared next to Ilthran who anxiously watched everything happening and put a hand on his shoulder to calm him down.

Rathyn took some distance as well, floating back while the Trash Pile attempted to take another step, its chipped away leg already getting quite wobbly, only being held together by some branches and mud clumps.

β€žGood thing I prepared for this, the information from the townspeople was quite helpful hehe. Have a taste of this, I’m sure you’ll like it!β€œ

A potion bottle was thrown in its direction and with a splash it exploded right upon hitting the leg, immediately dissolving everything that was left of it. Thanks to Drannor having carved such a nice opening, the liquid could evenly distribute and eat its way through the different layers of content. A very potent corrosive bringing the majestic monster down to the ground.

With a moan it fell forward, having lost its balance it crashed into several trees, causing them to bend and break with loud, cracking soundsβ€žHahaha isn’t this exciting??β€œ As playful as Rathyn was, he did a sommersault in the air and clapped his hands while watching the Trash Pile squirm and trying to get back up.

β€žWell, I can’t deny that this was pretty effective. Though I wonder why you didn’t use this powerful concoction from the start.β€œ, Drannor spoke and Ilthran nodded along. After all it would have saved him a good amount of fear!

β€žThat would have been pretty boring and I wanted to see you fight, dear Drannor. I’m really impressed by the way, how fast and strong you are. I’d love to touch those hands of yours at some point..~β€œ

Being content with the praise, Drannor hummed along and nodded but once the word β€šhandsβ€˜ reached his ears, his expression frozed for a moment. Confused.

β€žDid you say… hands?β€œ
