A Solitary Dusk

Finished piece for Saimain's contest.

Overall, this took a little over thirty hours, and about a hundred layers (at least). I may post the large piece somewhere, since I don't think this smaller version really does it justice. :\

Absolutely gorgeous work. I admire the way you've colored this. It's breathtaking.

Oh god. This is AWESOME. Yeah...after seeing a pic like this...I've lost any bit of confidence in entering Saimain's contest...T_T This is really gorgeous!! The lighting, the clothes, everything!

Beautiful Inqy! I wish I had the ability to do such convincing backgrounds... it does so much for the whole credibility of a piece of work and lends more solidity to the central characters. A FAV!!!

Thank you! I've never been able to do backgrounds any justice, so this year that's what I've been working on the most. ^_^

Very lovely. I love the glints of moonlight on the water. The lighting is just beautiful. Very creative piece. It has this air of bitter sweet melancholy that I love.

The details on Faeren's clothes rock. Smile

      Thank you, so much! ^_^

You can do it! This one took me sooo long, and I nitpicked it sooo much. Just ask Saimain, LOL, I submitted at least 2 versions to her, and then I would go back and nitpick it to death. ;D

Gah, you know this is gorgeous, but I'm going to say it again. This is gorgeous! ^__^ The whimsical atmosphere and colors really bring out the quiet magic of the setting. I love the idea of the Forest (or perhaps Snoots) creating a flute for him. The way his cloak twists and weaves itself into the tree behind him is fascinating...I adore creative little details like that. Smile Thank you so much for sharing your vision and participating in the contest! *hugs*

      Thank you! ^_^

I've been updating Wicked Alchemy again for the last three months. You can find it here: http://wa.mutedfaith.com

muted faith is kaput, I believe. I moved my site to http://inqy.in , and most of my artwork will be there once I finish moving. Smile
