For Love of a Child: Too Happy

“It was a lovely wedding” Sebastian began.

Fawks smiled softly, “It was…for our honeymoon, Sessho-maru whisked me away to Japan like he always promised. I returned to England five months pregnant…”

Flashback…

“Auntie!” Ciel and Elizabeth cheered as Fawks and Sessho-maru disembarked from the ship. He had a firm hold of her hand as he helped her down the steps. The two latched onto her dress.

“Gently children…!” Rachel began.

“I’ve missed the two of you so much!” Fawks smiled hugging them the best she could despite her belly.

“Aunt Fawks” Edward, Frances’ eldest son bowed.

“I’ve missed you, too, Edward” Fawks sighed giving him a hug as well. The boy stiffened, blushing a bit as he hugged her back.

“You’re getting so big I can barely fit my arms around you anymore” she beamed at him. He cleared his throat.

“Well…you two certainly do work fast…” Vincent commented.

“Come now, Vincent, she’s not a little girl anymore…” Rachel began.

“It just shows she’s good and fertile a fine quality in a wife” Frances nodded.

“…thank you, sister Frances…” Fawks smiled awkwardly. “Eh? Where is Angelina? I was hoping she could give me a check-up…”

“She’s taken extra shifts at the hospital…” Rachel began.

“Beloved, we should go visit on the way home” Fawks smiled.

“Of course” Sessho-maru nodded.

“…Auntie’s really big now…” Ciel began.

“That’s rude, Ciel! And she’s only big because there’s a baby in her tummy, right, auntie?” Elizabeth began.

“That’s right, Lizzie. Soon there will be more cousins for you two to play with” Fawks smiled stroking her hair.

“Ooh! I hope it’s a girl!” Elizabeth beamed.

“Nah-uh, there are too many girls in this family…” Ciel pouted.

 

“I’m so sorry I wasn’t able to meet you at the dock like everyone else! I’ve just been so swamped with work…” Madame Red began, going over the test results.

“It’s fine! I insisted to Vincent that he need not bother to meet us but…” Fawks smiled awkwardly as Sessho-maru helped her with her clothing.

“…well…congratulations, both you and the babies are perfectly healthy…” Madame Red smiled.

“Babies?” Sessho-maru began.

“…As in…more than one?”

“Oh yes. Two heartbeats”

Fawks glanced at her husband, he was wearing a feverish expression.

“…Sessh-kun…”

“…twins…” he breathed.

“…I think he might faint…” Fawks began.

“Should I arrange a bed for him?” Madame Red chuckled.

“…I’m fine…” Sessho-maru cleared his throat.

“I’m sure. Twin births are quite dubious, I’d like for you to forward me your current address so I can make house calls to determine the best birthing procedure” Madame Red began.

“Of course” Sessho-maru nodded.

“I can’t express how happy I am for the both of you, to be able to love each other even after all these years” she beamed.

“…Angelina…” Fawks blushed. Sessho-maru smiled taking her hand, “All this time, there has been no other woman for me”

“You’re making blush…” she began.

 

“How are you feeling?” Sessho-maru asked as he helped her into the carriage.

“Fine…” she smiled as he slipped in next to her. “…I’m…so happy right now…”

“…is that strange?” Sessho-maru asked as she snuggled against him.

“…no…but…it worries me…I can’t help but think…something has to go wrong…” she sighed, resting her head against his shoulder.

“Angelina told us anxiety is normal. Those feelings will go away once they’re born” he assured, gently stroking her belly. Fawks smiled at him, leaning up to kiss his cheek.

“I’m sure you’re right…”
