Bro Druid: Romance Novel Synopsis

“The Bro Guard”

 

Bodhi was a lifeguard who had it all: A good job that he loved in a tropical paradise, a loving support network of family and friends, and no cares in the world. Then, one day, this surfer bro’s life changed forever while pulling an injured swimmer out of the water. Not only was this the most beautiful jaguar he’d ever met, but also world-famous rock star Zander Powers. Grateful to his savior, this famous feline tries to hire Bodhi to be his private lifeguard at his palatial estate.

 

Bodhi has to choose between the fantastic opportunity to advance his career and the life he loves. Taking up Zander’s offer to do a test run for a month, the sea druid packs his clothes and board and visits the mansion. It quickly becomes clear that the rockstar doesn’t need a full-time lifeguard for the Olympic-sized pool on the ground. Bodhi soon realizes that it wasn’t safety Zander was interested in but the lifeguard himself, as the jaguar went out of his way to try to impress the sea otter with his wealth. The money was nice, but Bodhi needed more than a nice body and a thick wallet.

 

While teaching Zander to swim, the lifeguard glimpsed a moment of genuine passion in the jaguar. Soon, the two became inseparable except in public, where the rock star put out a macho straight image. Bodhi enjoyed their private time together, but if he were going to be with someone, it would need to be a relationship that didn’t need hiding behind closed doors. Upset when Zander refused to risk his career going public with his secret love, Bodhi stormed out of the mansion. Furious at not being able to get the one thing he wanted with purely material possessions, the rockstar started binge drinking. 

 

Seeing the pool in his drunk rage, Zander decided he didn’t need Bodhi to save him from drowning. Unfortunately, the intoxicated state of the feline made his already poor swimming skills almost nonexistent. Water rushed all around Zander as he sank, flailing towards the bottom of the pool as the last breaths of air left the jaguar’s lungs, hands wrapped around the feline and lifted him out of the water. Bodhi had returned to get some clothes he left behind in his hurry and saw the rockstar drowning. Quickly, the lifeguard administered CPR, saving Zander’s life once again.

 

When he awoke in the hospital, the jaguar rockstar saw Bodhi sleeping by his bedside and realized he had been living his life wrong. Throwing money around and taking those around him for granted wasn’t how Zander would live his life anymore. Unfortunately, Bodhi wouldn’t be there to watch the feline’s transformation as he needed to return to the sea. One many weeks later, Bodhi came in from a surf run to meet Zander with his new boyfriend. It may not have been his romantic happy ending, but sappy romances weren’t for the sea otter. He much preferred his bros anyway.
