Chapter 10: Boss Battle - Celestial Support

9. Draw or write about your character rescuing Martus.

β€žHeh… Of course you hide behind this mecha all the time. How pathetic...β€œ

It had been a tough fight up to now and Naedithas couldn’t deny that he was exhausted. There was blood everywhere, he swiped some out of his eye to gain a clear view once more. He was strong, no doubt about that, but an enemy of that size, made out of metal in addition, wasn’t easy to penetrate. Even with his additional barbarian abilities.

Portal Posi, still nestled safely in the mouth of her oversized mechanical snake, couldn’t hold back her laughter. Especially since she managed to get a hold on Martus, a valuable member of the adventurers guild.

Thankfully no one else got caught up in this battle which Naedithas welcomed very much. The more he had to protect, the more difficult it would have been to keep fighting this abomination.

With a huff the Barbarian let his hand graze past his mouth to get rid of the metallic taste of blood and he braced himself for climbing the snake once more. This try had to work. There was no more time.

When he looked up the metallic structure, he saw how Posi conjured another portal and stepped through it, Martus in tow. His eyes widened.

β€žDon’t you dare running away! Disgrace!β€œ

His rage flared up once more, his breathing quickening in an attempt to increase his energy.

β€žMay I aid you in this noble endeavor, Naedithas?β€œ

A familiar voice caused his ears to twitch and the Barbarian felt a sudden touch on his shoulder. A strong and reassuring one. One he didn’t mind despite his fear of physical contact. He was safe around this tall man.

It was Eldaerenth who used his magic to heal all wounds which had been inflicted on the warrior his body. A calming sensation accompanied by beautiful visuals. Naedithas already got to see it before and this time it wasn’t any less impressive and beautiful. Almost as if he dove into the night sky during the day.

Within mere seconds he felt better, energy slowly returning to his worn out body.

β€žThank you, Eldaer. That was perfect timing and very impressiveβ€¦β€œ

He turned towards the way taller draconic elf with a grateful smile and shouldered his axe, now with ease.

β€žPlease forgive me that I can’t thank you properly yet but I need to put an end to this as fast as possible.β€œ

His smile turned into an apologetic one, then it disappeared and got exchanged with concentration and seriousness. A life was on the line afterall.

Quick, now way stronger footsteps picked up the pace when Naedithas ran towards the tail of the mechanical snake, jumping from one of its digit to the other, all the way up to the top where the previously opened portal still lingered and warbled. Without hesitation he jumped through to follow Portal Posi and Martus to another destination.

Eldaer in the meanwhile stayed behind, observing through his blindfold while humming.

β€žThere is no need to worry about such triviality. May Selene guide you and keep you safe on your journey. I shall be with you in mind and await your return.β€œ
