Chapter 19: Tellers of Tales
Tell me when
Did we begin
To shatter the mirror,
Make it clearer
By breaking our lives
Into bitty pieces?
Husbands and children and lovers and wives,
Worlds of peace, worlds where war never ceases.
These we make,
License take
From the gods of hope and horror and dream.
We sprinkle their libations down
All over our town,
And rewrite our tale as we’d like it to seem.
