April Anthology, 2013: Doubt

In the house of answers

All I find are further questions.

Confident voices call forth my doubt.

Statements in music awaken my discord,

And I wonder at their logic,

Their method and their route.

I know that somewhere there must be

A fact, a truth, a final word.

How could my foundations

Have been founded on a fiction?

You can’t be evil, or a lie.

You must be here. Just tell me why.

Show me the love behind the stories.

Show me the hope in the hollow shell.

Don’t let me erode my hope of glory.

Save me from this condescending hell;

And if you are real, save my people as well.
