Chapter 42: The Warrior's Lair

Link saw how much the Warrior's Lair looked like the previous lair, and it made a shiver go down his back. All he could think of was getting out of this creepy maze and go home. In front of the doorway were two plaques, one that told him where he was and the other one read something strange,

"To find the twelve gemstones you must pull a bone."

Link read that and another shiver went down his backbone, "Pull a bone?" Link thought. He entered and saw at least twenty skeletons scattered around the room. He tried pulling each bone from them but nothing happened. Then he twirled around ready to leave when he spotted six bone pulleys on the wall in front of him now. He pulled each pulley and two gemstones popped out. In the end he got twelve gemstones. He looked around the room finding where he could put the gemstones on when he noticed a pressure plat ein the corner of the room. He pressed it and from the ground appeared two pedestals. He placed six gemstones on each and the wall in front of the doorway exploded revealing a chamber beyond it. He entered the room spying the Onyx Statue in the center of the room. He went up to the alter that it was on and noticed that it wasn't secured to the alter. Link readied his sword for battle and sure enough the statue came to life, swinging wildly at Link. Each swipe causing more havoc for Link to dodge as he tried to defeat him. With the last of his strength Link set a bomb near Onyx and jumped on top of it. He leaped onto the general's head and stabbed his swrod into the general's forehead. The general screamed as his body collapsed to the floor. Link jumped off and watched as the body turned to bright read flame. The flames disintegrated leaving a ruby colored stone. He picked up the stone and exited the chamber. He knew that with the little strength he had left, the next battle would be more ardious than this one. As his thoughts wondered, he heard the voice of Agahnim echo throughout the corridors and hallways of the labyrinth.

"I have underestimated your strength, boy. Got any strength left to fight? Hehe. Be careful, the rogue has a couple of tricks up his sleeves. Try and best him fairy boy."

Link wandered around panting every second or so and trying still to find the last of the three guardians.
