Chapter 44: Tears of the Ocean

Ganondorf, still not knowing why his vision of the past had hit him, entered a room that had a small island in the center of it surrounded by water. he waled towads the isle noticing that he was walking on top of water. His shadow wasn't following his movements right so he stopped and stared down at it. The eyes of it darted open and rose from the ground. It swung its sword wildly at Ganon. His shadow anticipated his moves and reversed them back onto him. Even his speels were parried. The fight ensued for hours until Ganondorf was all out of stregth to battle the shadow. He collapsed to the ground and lost consciousness. In his darkness he saw a dream. One that had no relation to him because it was about the first Water Sage, Zorto. In the dream he saw Zorto's rounds and the looming darkness that shrowded his mind. He made a pact with the sages telling them to seal him in the Water Temple to make sure the evil didn't escape to Paradise. He fought a never-ending battle between the darkness and the light, but felt he was losing stregth so he made another pact, one with the Ancients. He told them to seal him in the Sacred Realm because the seal was weak on the Water Temple. He also told them to end his eternal suffering. They told him that all they could do was seal him away until the Dark King came and relieved his soul from its last duty. The evil would be released if they killed him, but if the Dark King killed him the evil would die because it was apart of the Dark King as well as Zorto. The last images of the dream focused on the tears that Zorto cried. The Tears of the Ocean, of the Sea, of the Water he protected to the day he would be released. Ganon regained consciousness and got to his feet. He tried to escape the chamber, but he couldn't because the Water Guardian had placed a barrier between rooms to keep Ganon there until he was destroyed. Then his eyes moved to the ground. He saw his shadow crying just like Zorto in his dreams. He noticed that the shadow was trying to speak but words failed to be conjured. Then he heard a majestic but weak boice in his head. It was Zorto.

"Please Dark King, give me eternal rest for I have been awake for far too long. Give me peace for I have cauised chaos upon the world. Give me closure for my life has been open for an eternity. Destroy yourself so that we may both have rest, destroy our suffering, destroy our fear, destroy our tears that we cried for we mourn ll of our lives. Destroy my essence to help us have satisfactory. Here is thy present, destroy it so that I may rest." Zort cried two tears that turned to ice upon the ground. Ganon picked them up and tossed them in the air. he swung his sword and destroyed the tears in one fell swoop. "Thank you now let my suffering end..." Zorto's voice started to grow darker., "He He he. Welcome, o Great Dark King., I am glad to finally test you for your journey. The Guardian sent me as a test for you, but alas I got sidetracked, but now we can battle. i am Otroz your final test for the Orb of Water." Otroz's voice laughed out. Ganon understood all that had happened, he had released Zorto's soul but not the evil ones's soul. "Alas my defenses are not what they used to be, but I can still defeat you none-the-less" The voice now cackled. Ganon finally saw the true form of the evil it was a reflection of him only darker. Now he had finally understood what, "...destroy you to destroy me..." meant. It meant to beat this replica of him to set both souls free. They battled for what seemed like hours but were minutes. "You bested me this time Dark King, but my soul still nourishes on your suffering. See you next time King. Hahahaha!" Otroz's voice said as he was dieing. He left another part of a key for Ganon. The orb chamber door exploded when the last remains of Otroz finally disappeared. Ganon grabbed both the key part and the elemental orb from the orb chamber. He left the elemental chamber and entered the Antechamber once again. This time he went to the door opposite of him and saw the Shadow Medallion insignia on it. He solved the puzzle and entered the Shadow Room.
