DoA - Drawlloween 2020: Ghoul's just wanna have fun

"What are you doing?!" Spessartine asked, obviously exasperated by the fact that she was basically looking at a child, a child laying on the warm sand, light flickering off their scales and the surface of the shallow waters. Although, what had her completely stumped as to their childish behaviour was the fact that they'd wrapped themselves up with kelp, looking up at her with a goofy smile on their face. 

 

"I'm a ghoul!" They laughed, rolling around in the soft sand, giggling manically, "And I want to have a bit of fun!"

 

Apparently, if they have enough head and sunlight, as well as ludicrous volumes of crystal coral, this particular Sea Skimmer goes quite a bit nutty. Especially as that giggle almost made Spessartine shudder. It was slightly more than unnatural. She rolled her eyes, moving a flipper to gently bap Red Tail on the nose, the sea skimmer squeaking in alarm at the sudden assault, scattering several fish away from them, his eyes wide as he stared at her. 

 

"Well, that's not something that you should be proud of!" She laughed gently, shaking her head, to which Red Tail huffed, flicking their tail in frustration as they rolled onto their underbelly, eyes narrowing towards Spessartine. Spessartine blinked, noticing their glare, becoming a little more suspicious of their actions. 

 

The next moment, Red Tail suddenly launched himself towards Spessartine, smacking her nose with a flipper, giggling madly even as some of his kelp-costume got hooked on her spines, ripping itself off. 

 

"You're it!" Red Tail declared, moving to dash away and hide behind a rather large, rock which pierced through the surface of the shallow water, making Spessartine rumble softly, which quickly turned into a bit of a growl. 

 

"You're gonna regret it!" Spessartine declared, pushing herself off the deliciously warm white sands, darting off towards the rocks. She slowly made her way around its edge, occasionally seeing the shimmering red of their tail and, more often, their eyes as they watched for her, before swimming away rather quickly, before she could catch up to them. She chased him around that large rock, over the sandy hills around its base, breaching the water occasionally to leap over those sandy hills, diving back into the water quickly. 

 

But the sea skimmer was too quick for her. 

 

Growling softly, she looked around, trying to get some form of upper hand... Before it came to her. She was a very similar colour to the sand banks.

 

Working quickly, Spessartine buried herself into the sand, covering every inch of her spines and her pink tail, the only thing peaking out from the sand being a single eye that she kept quite close to shut, watching, waiting.

 

It took almost five minutes, but soon, the sea skimmer was coming back around the base of the rock, curiously looking around, obviously looking for Spessartine. She continued to wait, watching him come closer and closer before he was just a few feet away...

 

A moment later, Spessartine erupted from the sand bank, moving her flipper towards the now very scared and surprised Red Tail, who was yelping with surprise. Her flipper made contact with his tail, and she cried out in victory.

 

"Gotcha!" She exclaimed, before darting away from him, Red Tail obviously looking displeased with that surprise. 

 

"Cheat!" Red Tail growled softly, before twisting and darting after her, laughing all the while.
