DoA - Drawlloween 2020: Hair Scare Routine

Chapter 4: Hair Scare Routine

Spessartine looked up to what she was doing, although, what she was doing was a little silly. Spessy was laying down on her back, her tail-tip gently tapping the rocky wall near her head, occasionally she twisted tail, spines gently brushing over the rocks, just observing how they felt underneath her spines. She was genuinely bored, not having much to do that day. The light shimmering through the shifting kelp on the outside of her cave, waving to and fro with the gentle currents. Small fish swam through them, and further in the distance, she could see a few whales swimming by, although it was difficult to make out their form from such a distance.

Groaning, she rolled onto her front, tail flicking behind her once more. She normally never gets so bored, but with Malachite being busy, she was simply laying down, waiting for something to happen... Unfortunately for her, the seconds dragged on to minutes, and the minutes to hours.

She snarled in frustration, the boredom getting too much for the dragon, pushing herself off the rock that she was laid on, motivated by her stomach growling in hunger.

Slowly, Spessartine made her way out of the cave, her flippers moving slowly to push herself through the water, her head slowly moving from side to side as she looked around, watching small animals swimming between the kelp. Most of these sea creatures were too small for her to be bothered eating and as soon as they saw the larger, spine covered dragon moving through the sea, they scattered away from her.

But one larger one hadn't noticed her yet, a large, shimmering fish.

Her stomach growled again in hunger as she slowly made her way towards it, its mouth opening and closing slowly, content with it's current state of being. Although she couldn't understand fish, so she assumed that it was happy... But that was about to change. She was stalking it from behind, making her way towards it, growing closer and closer, the fish was almost in her grasp.

Something wet, stringy, floppy and weird suddenly attacked her face, making the Aqrion screech in terror.

The fish darted away as she shook her head madly, something caught on her spines, long, brown, and following her whenever she moved her head. She darted back down towards the sandy ocean floor, still shaking her head and trying to rid herself of that creature!

Then with one more head flick, it came off, Spessartine looking visibly relieved, gasping for breath in fear and adrenaline. She turned back, looking over at the brown thing. A few moments later, a confused look crossed over her face as a weird mop of brown slowly fluttered down to the sand, looking like some form of hair. She frowned, realising that this object was harmless and likely just happened to hit her in the face on accident.

At that moment of realisation, she could have sworn she heard laughter coming from above her.
