DoA - Drawlloween 2020: There's a Clown in my Closet

Chapter 18: There's a Clown in my Closet

Trellia looked left and right, her shimmering crystal horn gently illuminating the area around her. She gave a small trill in happiness as she continued to look around the recently sunken ship. Its occupants escaped the grizzly demise of the ship, a massive hole in the bowl of the ship the cause of its sinking. A massive rock several hundred meters behind the ship was likely the reason it ended up with the giant hole, more evidence to support this being that being the large amount of wood scattered across and around its base. The warm waters shone gently in the presence of the midday sun, colourful, tropical looking fish dancing around the crisp white sails gently flowing with the currents.

Trellia slowly swam through the ship, admiring the architecture of it, wondering how those surface dwellers could create something so sophisticated for a few moments. But that was short lived as she moved down through open areas of the ship, pushing herself down through the wooden maze of corridors, moving down and into the hold.

She was amazed once again as she saw that there were several dozen unopened crates, barrels and other unique, wooden objects. Trellia rumbled in curiosity as she moved towards them, seeing something that caught her eye, something that she’d never seen before. It stood upright and she slowly made her way towards it, her red tail gently pushing her forward, eyes sparkling with curiosity.

It was something like a large box, with two doors, having handles, but they seemed to already be partially open. Trellia moved her nose towards it, about to open it to see if there was something of interest inside of it. But the curiosity was short lived.

Something suddenly burst free of the confines of the closet, roaring quietly at her, a black shape scaring the living daylights out of her as she reeled backwards, her heart pounding. Giving a frustrated squeak, the dolphin glared at Red, who was giggling manically, clearly unimpressed with the dragon.

“Was that truly necessary? You’re such a clown.” She grumbled in frustration, her eyes narrowing at them.

Red Tail gave a rather large laugh, a wide smile on his face, crimson eyes glittering with amusement. “You know that it was, and hey, this was just payback.” He said simply to the dolphin, who decided to ignore the comment.

It truly was not worth trying to argue against him and someone clearly so happy with getting back at her.
