Chapter 59: duocast Kaytlyn and Oria - Godspawn

β€œJust a little bit further now,” Kaytlyn assured the snow elf as she led her to the top of the hill. Off in the distance, the run-down mansion sat bathed in the moonlight. β€œIt’s the perfect home base for you Oria. New England property is the best thing since Old England; from what the locals say, it snows here.”

β€œWhy did we have to hike all the way to the top of this hill to view the mansion,” the snow elf asked the young fennec as she looked at the decrepit house. β€œAnd I thought you said the place had moon roofs? Those are just large holes.”

β€œYou’ve got to use a little imagination,” Kaytlyn insisted, looking up at the stars that weren’t quite twinkling correctly. β€œThe price is discounted to reflect the extensive amount of repairs needed, but I’ve got a handyman on that, and you get to keep all the books and weird statues in the place. Plus, look how pretty it is under the moonlight.”

β€œYes, it’sthe moonlight is… nice,” Oria hesitantly agreed. Something was not quite right about how the moon shone, and the stars twinkled in this place. β€œI would like to tour the place first.”

β€œIf you agree to buy now I’ll throw in a brick blessed by Archdruid Violet,” the fox offered, trying her best to complete the sale. β€œIt’s guaranteed to knock out eldritch horrors long enough to stuff them into a closet for safe keeping.”

β€œEldritch horrors,” the snow elf inquired, taken off guard by the mention of possible abominations.

β€œJust brick and forget,” Kaytlyn laughed, already starting her walk down the hill in that not-quite-right moonlight and not-quite-right stars.
