Chapter 74: trio Kaytlyn Marvo Vander

A single lightbulb hung from the ceiling, dimly illuminating the small room. Under the light was a metal table with a single uncomfortable chair. That was where an average-sized human male in a green coverall uniform sat. He looked around, confused and nervous, not quite sure what was happening. Suddenly, the door flies open, and Kaytlyn storms in and slams her palms on the table in her Druid Sentinel form.

β€œLook here, trash boy. I’ve got questions, and you can answer them,” the fennec kitsune shouted as her five tails fanned out behind her threateningly. Kaytlyn grabbed Brick Brick from the halo of violets floating behind her head and slammed it on the table, cracking it in half. β€œOr we can do this the brick way.”

β€œI don’t know what you want or who you are,” the human jumped out of the chair and backed away towards the wall.

β€œBrick way it is then,” Kaytlyn showed all her teeth in a threatening smile as she advanced toward the man.

β€œNo! No, we aren’t doing that,” Vander shouted as the void creature ran in and put himself between the fox and the human. β€œHe’s not worth them taking your badge and bricks away! I’m sure if we ask nicely he’ll tell us what we need to know.”

β€œI don’t know what you want,” the human in the green uniform whimpered, trying to edge along the wall toward the door.

β€œOh, come on. I wasn’t going to actually beat him. I was just trying something I saw in one of those movie things,” Kaytlyn pouted as her demeanor became less threatening.

β€œWe aren’t going to get anywhere if he’s too afraid to talk,” Vander informed her as the black and grey void creature’s four clawed feet clicked on the floor. β€œThere are better ways to do this.”

The human managed to reach the door, but as he tried to duck through it, a four-armed, colorful clown robot appeared to block him. With an unchanging happy expression, Marvo pulled a balloon from his pocket and used his finger to inflate it. Using all four of his hands and expert skill, the clown twisted the balloon into the shape of a fancy poodle while Kaytlyn and Vander continued to argue. Once the inflatable sculpture was complete, Marvo held it to the human.

β€œIs this what you are going to me if I don’t answer your questions,” the man asked, suddenly more unnerved.

β€œNo, this is a gift for you along with this bell,” Marvo wrote in his notebook. He held it to the man as they retrieved a bell from a pocket. The clown showered the now thoroughly confused man using the glitter launchers in their sleeves. β€œIf you could tell us what you know about the trash monster, it’d be super helpful.”

β€œMost of the trash on Wouagi gets recycled, so I don’t think it’s from here. Maybe the recent portal problems have something to do with it,” the human answered, hoping it was enough to free him.

β€œAh, yes, that makes sense,” the clown wrote out before picking the human up and dancing with him. The clown robot’s bells and whistles drew Kaytlyn and Vander’s attention.

β€œI guess neither of us were right,” the fennec kitsune sighed.

β€œMaybe there is something to the Marvo approach,” the void creature commented.
